I knew I would need/want a tummy tuck once I was happy with my weight as my tummy was hanging over my underwear. I have always carried my weight around my tummy and it was always the last bit of weight to go. Having lost nearly 7stone I thought now was the time to look into it. I went to an open evening at the Spire Havant Hospital about cosmetic surgery and listened to a few surgeons go through procedures but by the end of the evening I knew I wanted Mr Hurren to conduct my surgery. I arranged an appointment to see him and as nervous as I was about finally getting the body I had worked so hard for (gym and diet) I was incredibly excited about having the surgery. Mr Hurren went through it all, answered many questions, reassured me and even suggested against other surgery options I had thought about (breast lift) even though it would be a loss of income for him!! I felt confident and ready that he was the right choice of surgeon. Our dates didn't quite coincide for when he was free to the time I was allowed off work however he managed to fit me in and arranged my after care so I was 100% comfortable. The day of the surgery finally arrived and the pen came out to draw on my stomach! We went up to theatre and then I was put to sleep. I wasn't nervous nor scared and didn't have any doubts about wanting to have it done or the ability of the hands I was now in. Post op the care in the hospital was amazing, I unfortunately fainted a few times! (reasons unknown!) so they wouldn't send me home. I ended up staying a few more nights which too be honest wasn't a hardship, however much you want to get home, staying in a private hospital is not bad at all!! Mr Hurren's after care was second to none and he was always happy for me to have late appointments due to my work commitments. I am now 3 months on and back to my 'normal' life of work and exercise. My after care is still ongoing but I have never felt so confident in my body especially not having to worry about what massive supportive pants to put on or long vests to wear! I'm over the moon!!
