Uk Mum of 3, (TT, MR, Lipo) 9 month PO update and Photos

Absolutely loving my new tummy...

WORTH IT$6,100
My tummy is still healing beautifully. At 9 months PO, it's definitely feeling like mine now lol! I'm not kidding it takes a while for your mind to catch up...

I went shopping this weekend for a dress to wear to wedding. We went to Karen Millen (a shop I would never have dared to try anything on in before) and I actually had a great time! And I bought two dresses lol (one will have to go back unfortunately !) A year ago, any shopping trip was mainly traumatic, especially if it was for a special occasion, trying to find something that disguised my tummy was a nightmare. This surgery has changed my life :)

My tummy itself is healing great! It feels so strong when I'm exercising (core feels awesome) and the skin is settling in a curvy, womanly way. My scar is lightening and is so thin and flat. Still a slight wobble in my mons area, so will look at this with Mr H at my year appointment. My results have way exceeded my expectations, Mr H is a genius :).

Happy healing my RS lovelies xx

What an absolutely amazing result you have. You look amazing!! Kudos to your surgeon!
Aww thanks Funky...isn't Mr H a miracle worker! Hope your doing well honey [RS bleep]
Hi Thanks for your post. I'm 47 and going in for my TT on the 29th March and I'm constantly searching the net for some honest answers. I'my terified of the surgery, pain and time to heal. I found your bits to buy pre op very useful and it all made sence. I'm really scared but it's of the unknown I suppose. I enjoyed following your honest journey and appeal of how it all works. I'm going in London for my operation although I live outside it. my email is fiona.davidson@senadgroup.com if you have any more hints or tips. Do you know how long it is before I can start the gym after surgery? I'm no gym bunny but feel if I'm paying allot of money for a new body I best look after it eh! Thank you again and you might just have given en me the courage to start my own blog here. Fiona
Good luck Fiona! It is a huge op and making the decision to go for it is a big one. My whole experience is shared here, so don't really have any other hints and tips, but you are welcome to PM me on here of you have something you'd prefer to ask in private. In regards to exercise, quite honestly I started doing a bit at about 8 weeks, but at 12 weeks I felt comfortable. And by 6 months I felt normal!! Good diet and exercise is still so important afterwards...I really notice when I haven't been eating healthily lol! Do a blog, I'd love to watch your story! Take care and good luck xx
Wow you look absolutely fantastic. I am thinking of going with spire. Where abouts did you have it done? I would go to gatwick as its close to me! I'm petrified though but your post is the best one I've seen its really inspired me! I'm worried about the time off work and returning though! [RS bleep]
I agree about these posts they made me feel more confident I even had the same surgeon I'm day 5 po feel bit swollen today but still highly recommend having it done x
Hi sassy, I went to spire Portsmouth but my surgeon works from all local hospitals. Finding the right surgeon is more important than the hospital I think. Go and meet with few surgeons until you find the one you feel confident with. It's big surgery with a big recovery time, so you have to think very carefully about it...but honestly it's one the best things I've ever done. Good luck xx
You are looking great burns! Take it easy sweetie xx
Thanks for your reply! I want to lose a couple of stones before I have it done ! I have a consultation on Friday 6th of March iv had one before but chickened out! Now I wish I had done it two years ago it would have looked amazing by now!! In regards to your payment did you just save or did they give you finance on it? How much did yours cost? Thank you xx
Just go for it, there is no pressure from the consultation. I chickened out so my times as well....it's a big decision as it's a big op! Mine cost £6100 including some lipo. I actually borrowed the money to do it from the bank (we have 3 children, no chance of me saving it!). Xx
really! Thank you I had my consultation today but meeting with the surgeon on the 11th! How quickly did you book the op after the consultation? Thanks for your replies I can't wait x x
Aww thanks polly and thanks burns xx

8 months in...

...and I'm feeling good! Working hard on my half marathon training and ridding myself of the Christmas bloat!

I'm back to clean eating and a minimum of 30 mins of exercise every day and it's making a difference to my shape :) I still can't put into words the difference this tuck has made to my life...even just something as simple as pulling on a pair of running tights, something I would never have been able to wear before!!

I have so much more feeling across the whole of my tummy area now, I only have one numb spot left which is right over my tummy button. I often feel a pins and needles feeling after a longer run, I am assuming that this is just the nerves knitting back together!

My scar is fading fast and when I get a fake tan, it's hardly noticeable! It's flat and sits perfectly under my fave style panties. My tummy button is also looking very natural :)

The swelling above my mons has pretty much gone, I couldn't quite believe how flat I looked in my fave jeans the other day! I'm also finding it really hard to find jeans that fit well, they fit perfectly over my hips but then bag at my waist and I have to wear a belt, I never had the problem before lol!

There is still a little loose skin just at the top of my mons, however, I do think it's improving with slightly with exercise and losing a few pounds. I will review this with Mr H at my year appointment.

Happy healing my RS lovelies [RS bleep]

Hi yummy mummy So good to have your updates. I am so pleased that you are doing so well. I'm healing beautifully. I'M still in the Alps coming home next week. It's been so good to exercise. I've done some Cross country skiing. Very gentle not to speed skating! I Make sure I moistoriser my scars heavily before going out in the cold. Just to help keep them insulated. My scars look so much like yours. Mr h is fantastic! I too have more swelling over my right hip than my left. I'm hoping it won't linger and will go down in time. Good luck with your training. You've been such an inspiration and help to me in my journey. :)
I'm getting excited now 4 weeks today but u feel so relaxed when I read and see what yours has turned out like as I have the same surgeon fingers crossed it goes as smooth as yours x
Hi burns I'm sure you willbe very pleased with Mr H. He does things a bit differently yo the usa but don't worry...l his regime seems to work extremely well. The stuff he covers the wound with mustn't get wet. So its 4 weeks without a shower or bath, just full body washes. At this time of year it's no prob! You will be utterly amazed at your results. Wear your cg and stockings they will become your best friends. It's a love hate relationship. Do as Alison and Kim, his nurses, tell you and you won't go far wrong. Remember everyone heals at a different rate and you must take it easy. Sleeping in the v position for the first few weeks is hard but it takes the pressure off the scar. I'm 9 weeks po and have only just started lying flatter. I still revert to a pillow under the knees if I've had a long day or feel I've done too much. The run up to the op is by far the worst bit. Hope it goes really well for you. Keep smiling ;) kipper
Thanks so much for your surport can't wait to get it done now, how long before the surgery did u recieve any paper work still waiting on a price
Mmm that was a downside.. Don't be afraid to email Abigail ( private secretary) or Jaquie ( Mr Hurrens secretary at the spire) and chase them up. I was actually forgotten. Not niing the protocol I chased them a week before my op date. Wanting confirmation and wondering wondering when my pre op assessment would take place! I wish I had phoned earlier but it all sorted itself out ok in the end. Im not convinced paperwork is his strong point but his surgery technique is brilliant so take heart! ;)
Hi Ladies, Im new to this site and have lurking here for a while. . . More like stalking your posts to be honest. After a long time of loathing my belly I have decided to go for a TT. Based on your reviews of Mr. Hurren, I have an appointment with him next week with a potential TT date in 5 weeks! Your journeys have been so helpful with my decision so I cannot thank you enough for posting. Im so very nervous but cannot believe in that one day I will be able pull on my favourite Jeans and sit down without being agony. And I won't have to hide my round belly in ugly tent tops. And my posture will improve. And my Bikini days might not be over after all. I keep re-reading your posts as they are so calming and uplifting. They are helping me remain as calm as possible. Thanks and you look fabulous X
Hi I'm the same as u found reading all these posts makes things comforting, just recieved my paper work today with my admission form in there feels more real now
Brilliant, go for it girl! You will be so pleased you did. The worrying part is before the op. Everything else is healing time :)
Hi glad you found the posts useful. Any questions please feel free to ask. Mr Hurren is lovely and I'm sure you will be pleased with the results. Keep us posted. I shall update my profile next week, when I'm back from my hols. Keep smiling :) kipper
I will be brave soon and add some pics :)
How u feeling I've got 3 weeks and counting xx
You look marvellous, so glad to hear and see that you have healed so well. What a mahoosive difference to your body shape! Your Tummy is perfect: ) I have a provisional TT date booked in 4.3 weeks time with Mr. Hurren. I Feel like my Stomach is going to fall out of my Bottom every time I think about it LOL! Burns - how are you feeling? Are you prepared?
Hi when's your date mines the 18th and no don't feet prepared at all got pre op next week so hopefully will get sorted then it's coming round so quick now!!!
I know, its coming quick for me too. The evenings/nights are the worst as my mind goes to all sorts of dark places i.e. what happens if I get infected, I won't be able to cuddle the children for a while, how will I cope with the pain. Then I wake up and everything seems bright and exciting again LOL. Good luck with your pre-op & do keep us posted Xx
Hey both! Sorry finding it really hard to keep up with all the comments...this site is rubbish for that on a mobile lol! The wait is honestly the worse bit, your mind plays all sorts of tricks. Don't get me wrong, this us HUGE surgery, but for me it has changed my life. The recovery is tough, but prep yourself as much as yo in can on here and you will be fine! So excited to see how you both get on :) [RS bleep]
You look absolutely fantastic Yummy! I have the same problems with jeans too...wearing a belt does not come naturally. Next week will be my TT year anniversary but I'm scheduled for a little tweak in April to deal with an over-enthusiastic mons area. Another month off work to recover :-)
Hey muse, great to here from you! So pleased to hear you are doing well. And wow on the revision. Is your surgeon charging you for the revision? Xx
