WORTH IT
Twenty years ago I had 200 cc over the muscle implants as prolonged breast feeding had left me with hardly anything. This took me to a B cup which I was quite happy with as I'm petite and athletic and didn't want anything too obvious.

After some years, I developed grade 4 capsular contracture which made my breasts very firm, uncomfortable and distorted (think tennis balls). I have such a fear of surgery that I kept putting it off, but finally got round to it this year.

My breast width was measured at 11.5 cms and my surgeon advised me to go larger as when the capsule was removed there would be a larger pocket to fill. He suggested 270 or 300 cc Nagor Impleo moderate profile and I eventually decided on 300 cc (whereupon he remarked that this would give this most aesthetically pleasing result). I was concerned that I might look too large but he reassured me that it was a good choice.

I was extremely nervous on the day of surgery but everyone was lovely, and the operation was successful. As it had been done early in the day and everything was fine, I was allowed home at about 7.30pm and went straight to bed!

The next day, the anaesthetic had worn off more fully so I experienced more discomfort, but nothing unbearable at all. My arm movements were very limited and my husband had to wash my hair for me!

It's day 12 now and I feel more like myself each day. I'm not allowed to run or exercise properly for 6 weeks but have started going for brisk walks and doing some (very careful) abs with my arms crossed over my chest.

It's early days yet, but I think my boobs will be fine once they settle. They still feel alien to me, and a bit bigger than before, but not too over the top. I'm still wearing a Macom post-surgery bra which is hideous but very supportive and will apparently accelerate healing. I'm glad the worst is over and can't wait until I forget they're there! I've attached some not very good before and after school.

Black and nude - they are so supportive but probably the least attractive thing I've ever worn!!

Looking good! Don't be tempted to overdo it with exercise though. I have a friend who started too early and ended up with CC. I too loathe the Macom bra. It is supportive, but I find it very uncomfortable - particularly at night. Can't wait to wear something different. My nurse said I could at 2 weeks - how about you? I will probably do a mix, and keep the wretched thing on at night.

I am now a week post op and feeling so much better. I had 460cc, but I'm 5'6" and probably weightier than you! Delighted with the 34F outcome!

You're quite right about the exercise and I know I have to be patient but I'm started to feel a bit flabby and untuned. I'm not sure what size I'll end up, probably 34c. Two weeks ago today I was waiting to go into theatre! I do feel a bit better each day which is encouraging. Hope you're recovering well, it's a big deal isn't it?

Yes, I too am feeling rather flabby! After I came out of hospital I weighed myself and I had put on around 4lbs!! I know the implants are heavier, but not that much! I don't know where on earth that came from, but I think it may possibly have been due to water retention. I am pleased to say I am now back to the original weight before going in. Nevertheless I still need to lose more weight and tone up for the summer. Will just have to be patient I guess!

Yes, Day 8 now and feeling a lot better. Still not driving, but thankfully my son is home from uni, so he took me to the hairdresser today - even thinking of going out to a nice restaurant tomorrow night! It is a big deal, you are quite right. However, I found it so much easier than first time round - how about you? I wasn't able to lift my arms at all first time and having a two year old at the time, made it very difficult! I don't think I'm in pain at all now really - I just seem to be getting the odd bit which seems mainly to be caused by this wretched bra 'rucking up'! I also had a fibroadenoma removed at the same time, so I did have some pain and bruising from that, but that is also getting better now. I am so looking forward to going underwear shopping - although I think I may not have as many choices now at 34F - I'm sure I will still manage to find some nice things!

I don't know what you think, but I feel there is a real call for someone to produce 'soft bras' that are supportive but attractive/pretty/sexy looking?? Most of them out there in the UK look pretty awful. I need to put my mind to it - could be a new business idea!!! Have a nice weekend! :)

Hi! Had a check up today and surgeon says all is fine which is brilliant! I asked about cycling and he said not for another 10 days at least as any exercise that can raise your blood pressure can lead to swelling ... So I have to put up with feeling a bit less toned than usual but all for the greater good.

I bought some 'just in case' non-wired bras from M&S. For wearing under lower cut tops. They're not pretty but acceptable and cheap! (£14 for a 2 pack). From 6 weeks I can wear what I want, hurray!

Hope your recovery is going well.

Ps yes, let's design some attractive post-op bras, there must be a market! It makes me laugh that the Macom one has a silly little bow on it as thought that's going to help!
February 20, 2016
lol Absolutley! I tore mine off - I hated it sticking out under my clothes! That's great you are doing well. When you say you can wear what you want from 6 weeks - do you mean underwired?? I understood that these can't be warn for 6 months??

Looks like a good result. I'm also scared of revision surgery but after 24 years of my implants I know I have to change them now. I'm also looking to go with nagors, possibly moderates. Did you have them placed over the muscle again?
February 20, 2016
Hi. Yes, he thought over the muscle using the existing pocket was the best option. This is not surprising after 20 years, but he found that the right implant was ruptured inside the capsule, so I'm really glad I got this over and done with! Fortunately the silicone hadn't migrated. I still feel they're a bit large (although 300 cc isn't compared with what many women have!) but yesterday he said they would go down a bit more which is reassuring. It took me absolutely ages to pluck up the courage to have the exchange, but now it's done I feel very relieved and my surgeon was excellent. Best of luck if you decide to go ahead.

They do look big for 300s although I think they look a perfect size for you
