I am having tummy tuck with 2 areas of lipos done by Dr. Ortega in 3 days. I'm really excited and at the same time really scared about being in pain afterwards. Karla is my coordinator at Spectrum Aesthetics, and let me tell you, she is wonderful! She answers all of my questions, and always emails and calls back in a timely manner. I am traveling from out of town, so I will be staying at the recovery house which is not included in the price. The name of it is Assistance4life. Wish me luck because I really need it!!!!!!! I am scared to death.

So I made it to Miami. Maria, Karla's sister picked me up from the airport. She is hilarious, she makes me laugh. She makes me feel comfortable being around her and not akward. So she drove me to Spectrum to meet with Karla, do my pre op, and pay my balance.
Maria took me to get my prescriptions then drove me to the recovery house. It looks like a 2 story townhouse with 3 or 4 bedrooms. A very nice lady named Maria(different ones) is going to be taking care of me. I was starving when i got there, so she fixed me something to eat, and it was delicious. For some reason it won't let me upload pictures, idk why. Oh by the way, my surgery is going to be at 11 a.m tomorrow.

It depends on what kind of procedure you are having, and how comfortable you are being by yourself. Tummy tuck recovery is rough for me the first 3 days, luckily I stayed at the recovery house and they took really good care of me.

If you're taking anyone, take someone that will be able to help you throughout the whole process. I was going to take my sister at first, but she gets freaked out and queasy when she sees blood. So that wouldn't be a big help for me, lol.

I'm going to have Karla and Maria care for me too. I've read good reviews and I was comfortable talking on the phone with her. I've been reading other stories about care takers stealing pain meds, not picking them up on time and not having the antibiotics with the same day. What was your experience, we're you able to take your meds on your own time?

Like I stated above, I had a very pleasant stay at the recovery house. No problem with anything, my nurse at the time was very attentive, she wouldn't let me lift a finger.
