Omg where do I start, had acne since I was 13, tried every pill and cream out there. Acne has ruined my life, I hate the holidays and birthdays I'm too embarrassed to be seen by my family, everybody is happy with clear beautiful skin and I'm the only one in the room with horrible skin:( i believe in clean eating and holistic health , I take good care of myself but no matter what I do and try my skin still breaks out. The scarring is the worst:( I've been so hesitant to try accutane because of the horrible side effects, but after my 3 beautiful girls always ask, mommy why won't your booboos ever go away that became the last straw. I want my kids to see there mommy with normal pretty skin. So I'm starting claravis this Friday. 30 mg I'm 120 pnds. So scared!!!! Fingers crossed it works.

Hi Hun, sorry to hear! have you ever been tested for polysistic ovaries?? Hormonal imbalance?? I was diagnosed with that at the start of the year when my clear skin I was very lucky never had pimples whole life till now, but it became cyctic acne, trust me I would die to have your skin now, mine is so damaged. But I am on pill and having laser to treat the scars. Pill has luckily settled my hormones, but my detmitoligist has also put me on 75mg of spironolactone to help settle the little out break I still have, as it's all hormonal. Ohh good luck,

I'm just mentioning the pcos as a lot of women are not aware and acne is one of the symptoms, I've battles this whole year trying to treat it

Oh sorry to hear bout your skin:( no I've never been tested for pcos but I took diff kinds of birth control that's supposed to help w acne and they never worked, also tried spironolactone 75mg for two months and saw no results

Ohh wow, yes birth control sometimes doesn't work for some girls, I nearly went on acatane but I'm lucky that the pill worked for me with balancing hormones. When I did get acne, I just tried the natural approach which acne got so bad it has now damaged my skin. Cause I'm a picker!! Grrr. Lol Generally that's why we get acne. wow, I can't believe u actually haven't been tested 1-10 girls have it, so it's quite common now, i guess I only got the scan when nothing would help my skin and then that's how I found out there is a lot more going on internally to why I started to brake out! I never herd about it before till my skin went bad, but since I've found out and spoke to girls who have been struggling with acne I've told them and they have thanked me as there results have came back positivethat they have it, I'm on a website also and girls have been struggling since they were in there teens poor things ... It would deffintly be worth just having the scan, as u could rule that out, considering u still are still struggling with your skin! It solved a lot of answers for me Good luck :)

Wow thanx I'll definitely make an apt to get tested, I tried the natural approach totry to figure out why I was breaking out as well, I stopped using chemicals on my skin and switched to a vegan diet for over a year , started exercising regularly taking vitamins, doing juice cleanses, nothing worked:( being on birth control pills messed up my hormones so bad I started having anxiety so bad and finally after a panic attack I completely got of birth control and my anxiety went away. I'm just worried that if I get diagnosed with pcos and I'm told to go on birth control again , I couldn't do it. And spironolactone didn't work. So I feel like I've exhausted all my options . That's why accutane is my last hope . I'm very happy for you that the pill worked for you:)

Don't be scared!!! It will be worth it! And the side effects go away - I have completed my treatment back in June, and even now, four months later, i still have moments where i touch my face and am so shocked at how smooth it is!!! Good luck :)

Good luck :) hope all goes well for you ... I'm also 28, been on 20mg for nearly 11 weeks now and my skin has improved massively. My little girl said to me the other day mummy your face is not sore anymore and I was so happy :) they are so honest ey :) I had a massive break out first two weeks it was awful so just prepare yourself in case that happens but then after it just keeps getting better. Fingers crossed for you it's a joy to get rid of acne

Took my first pill today, so far so good. I didn't die lol . I've been drinking 4 quarts of water to stay hydrated. Took vitamin E , omega 3 and vitamin c supplements plus probiotics. Moisturizing with coconut oil for body, emu oil and rose hip oil on face, bought lots of preservative free eye drops. Hopefully I won't get freekishly dry if I'm always moisturized lol I hope to god I won't lose my hair! I got super long hair that I love , hope I won't have to cut it if it becomes dry and brittle :(

I went on roaccutane course 15 yrs ago, very effective and acne never came back. I had to go on 2 courses(7months). I didnt put anything on my face.Vaseline on my lips cuz they were dried.Strictly followed Dr instructions. One downside, my cholesterol level went up sky high during the course. Wish I did it decades ago, so there wouldnt have been scars from acne.

Did your face dry out and crack from not puting anything on it? Do you have any sides affects now from being on accutane years ago?
October 23, 2015
I didnt put anything on my face whilst on roaccutane( because I could never put on make up anyhow. The make up had oils/chemicals and affected acne.).Yes, there is a side effect from it, I will PM you.Roaccutane sure did cure my acne but with a price. I'm still happy without the acne because acne is painful(infection) on the face, before roaccutane I had antibiotics of all sorts. I even went on tetracycline and that has side effects.

I am on my third month of accutane. I am 29 yrs. Amazing results so far. My advice to you is to try to avoid taking supplements as they may interact with other meds . Just make sure to take accutane with a fatty meal (fatty healthy meal consists of healthy oils and fat (olive, peanbutter etc)

Did 2 courses roaccutane 15 yrs ago and no more major acne. However, to this day, if I don't dye my hair, I still get the odd acne along the edges of my hair line. And acne hurts on the face. I have to dye my hair(red color, it has more peroxide and dries the hair) to keep off acne. My sibling dies her hair blond, to keep it dry (we have oily scalp/hair)to help control acne along the hair line ,on face.

I broke out on my neck too when I first started. I also got a few along my hairline and a few behind my ears, which were odd places for me.
I just read your story and I hope your course goes well! My heart broke reading it. I know all too well how acne has made you feel. I can't wait to see your transformation! Sending good thoughts your way :)

I just saw your pictures, your skin keeps getting better and better, I'm so excited for you, I can't wait till my skin starts clearing up, hope this will permanently cute your acne. Good luck! :)

Aww thank you! :) I think I really noticed improvement at 10 weeks, so just 2 weeks ago. My forehead cleared up right away, I think around week 4. My chin is my problem area, so it has taken a bit longer. Most of the pimples I have had on Accutane have actually been clogged pores I had prior to starting Accutane that slowly became inflamed. I've only had a handful of new pimples develop. In fact, just yesterday one of the closed comedones I had since day 1 finally became inflamed. It was quite the monster yesterday and today it is almost flat. Accutane is amazing :) I think my "initial breakout" happened a lot later than most. At 8 weeks it was like a bomb went off. It was a little rough and it's the only time I've cried since starting the medication. I got through it and you will too. That's if you even have an initial breakout :)
I hope this is your cure too! I'm really excited for you! Accutane is going to do wonders for you! You're so beautiful. Really, you are! :) I love your glasses. They're super cute! I wear glasses too or rather I'm supposed to lol.
