I made an acupunture session with a recomended profesional for a face wrinkle and a general face skin condition. But the point is thar he only put some needle on my ear (5 or so) and some kind of sticks in the other ear that contain a micro metallic ball.
He says that the ear has the map of the whole body nerves of the body and that there is no need to put it on the face.

I see no sense on it specially when I see cosmetic acupuncture uses the needles directly to the skin.

What do you think? Is it another way to do it or I should start thinking about leaving it?

I've had acupuncture for non-cosmetic reasons and my acupuncturist explained briefly that the locations they place the needles isn't always the same place that you are having treated.  How often are you suppose to go to see results?

I am an acupuncturist who does facial rejuvenation treatments, amongst other things. It is true that the the ear is viewed as a map of the body, and it holds points that are very powerful when used correctly. There are numerous styles of acupuncture, and even within the same style, practitioners hold different beliefs regarding the best points to use for various treatments. When it comes to facial rejuvenation, points are most commonly needled on both the body and the face (and the ears too). The points on both the body and face are used to correct overall imbalances in health which cause the face to look tired or age more quickly than it should. In addition, the needles in the face cause increased blood flow and oxygenation to the face. Collagen production is increased at the site of needle insertion and needles can be threaded under wrinkles resulting in increased collagen production in that precise area. This is way after the fact, but if you're still interested in facial rejuvenation, you may want to find an acupuncturist who specializes in it. I wouldn't say this guy was scamming you, but you may get better results and be happier with a practitioner who has a treatment style that focuses more directly on the face.

Hi, I have been practicing cosmetic acupuncture for 3 years now and if your main reason is to go receive a facial lift and eliminating some wrinkles then YES, part of the procedure does involve receiving needles on your face and a few on the arms to anchor the energy from rising to your head. This will prevent you from getting headaches. Some acupuncturist Well include auricular or whole body treatment but as an add on. Goodluck!

There is truth to this but if you would like needles directly in face, seek out an LAc who specializes in cosmetic acupuncture /;)
