Diagnosed at 41 with breast cancer was life changing. Although I came to terms with the mastectomy because it saved my life, I hated my disfigured body. Trying to do sport and feel attractive again was difficult and so I decided to have a diep reconstruction at Southmead under Elena Prousskaia and her team. It was a difficult decision to put myself through such a big operation but the results have been amazing. I can't believe what they have been able to achieve and I am so grateful to them for giving me back my confidence. I am now able to wear a swimming costume without feeling self conscious and can pick any clothes to wear without worrying how I will look. I feel like ME again and I can't begin to express how important that is.
