I've been a regular gym goer for many years and I'm generally around 14% body fat and 78kg. At 5'11 I'm not a fat but I've always been conscious of my love handles and to a slightly lesser extent, my chest. Around 5 years ago I had some intensive training and at 9% body fat I managed to get that nice, cut physique BUT the love handles simply would not shift! I knew that one day I wanted liposuction so that I no longer had unsightly bulges above my waistband.
I researched a number of surgeons and having seen Mr Hurren's excellent reviews on this site I decided to book a consultation. I felt in no way pressured, in fact Mr Hurren was keen that I take plenty of time to consider the procedure. He agreed that he could considerably improve my flanks but was initially unsure whether he could improve my chest but said that he would go ahead if I was prepared for only a marginal improvement. I had a second consultation with Mr Hurren and book for both flanks and chest.
I was nervous on the day of the operation but I need not have worried. Mr Hurren put me at ease. When I woke from the general anaesthetic I had a fair amount of stinging in the treated areas but the nurse was at my bedside ready with the IV pain meds. I stayed overnight and was able to get up with help from the nurse to use the toilet. She gave me Tramadol throughout the night so the discomfort was bearable and I took a gentle shower in the morning. I don't bruise easily but the bruising was less than I expected.
At home I was comfortable over the next few days and only really noticed the soreness when moving or changing position. I did continue to take Tramadol for 3-4 days and the discomfort was much better than I expected. As I'd had both my front and back treated I was worried I'd not be able to sleep but it wasn't a problem. Laying was much more comfortable than sitting and I was able to get up and move around without assistance. I work from home and have a desk job so I was able to return to work after a week although it would have been uncomfortable had I needed to sit in an office chair for more than an hour at a time.
Now four weeks on the bruising has all but disappeared but I do still have some swelling. Despite this I can see a good improvement and already those bulges are significantly reduced. The areas are tender to the touch but I feel almost ready to return to my usual activities.
I had a post-op check-up with Mr Hurren yesterday and he shows a genuine interest to see me again in 6 months to see my results and ensure I am happy.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Hurren for liposuction.

There is always opportunity to see Mr Hurren and ask any questions both before and after the procedure. His office is easy to contact and responsive to emails and calls. He is good at putting your mind at rest and ensuring that you are certain before going ahead with surgery. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
