Hi there. My name is Lisa. I am 34 years old and reside in South Africa. After giving birth to my first child a good 12 years ago - My skin flared up and I got acne like a very hormonal teenager. I wore lots of make up when I was younger but did not have a very good skin care regime. I have an indent on my right cheek and pores all over. I have broken capillaries on my nose and redness in my cheeks and on my chin. I have been for light TCA peels which help with sun spots. I have had microdermabrasion which had done nothing for my skin besides making it feel smooth; So coarse salt in my opinion or Bi Carb does the exact same thing. I have also had laser treatment which has taken the redness out of my skin and lasted about 6 months. So yesterday - the 16th of August 2016 was my very first dermapen session. During the procedure I felt it slightly when she passed over my jaw line but nothing to write home about. She used a 0.75m needle for my face just not under the eye area which was 0.25. After the procedure my face was red and my pores stood out which was of course enhanced by the fact that she used a balm to put on my face after the procedure which has a shine. I hate shine! Cant stand it. Today I feel the sunburn effect especially on my chin and top of my cheeks. My next treatment is the 30th of September.

I've heard horrible nightmare stories about the dermapen. Stick with the derma roller and keep burning with peels. It will be fine. All the best!

I can't wait to see your dermapen progress. I have thought about it. I even thought of purchasing a derma roller

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Please please please, if you have a problem with pores.....Please go and read about extra virgin olive oil. I feel so gobsmacked and overwhelmed by this easy to use home remedy. My skin feels so good and to me my pores look smaller. I use it every morning and every night and I will do this going forward. How can we use astringent thinking it would work where it died my skin out and made it worse. Feeling very thankful for Google and olive oil and for people who share their stories. Good Luck to every one who is insecure and feeling low. God knows how it makes us feel. Please do your research and all the best. Xx

Do you use extra virgen or light?

I use extra virgin. If you research it, they say the darker the oil the more pure. They call it liquid gold. I have never used moisturizer as everything made me shine. I went to crossfit tonight, walked in, first washed my face off with dove soap and applied the olive oil to a damp face. I am typing this message now while it's being absorbed by my skin. Leaving it for an hour and will jump into the shower now where I will wash it off. I have shiny skin, this helps with the shine. And therefore, your pores don't look incredibly huge like mine normally did.

Will it work on pores/holes caused by laser damage or just regular skin pores?

I am going to try it for a month. Need to get lemons tho, apparently the mixture of both work for pores. I started recently with it, so I will report back. I can't see it getting rid of them though.

Can you share a little bit more of how do you use the EV olive oil? Do you just use it directly onto the face? or mixed with other things? Thank you!!

I started using olive oil in which I had steeped organic calendula flowers for 4 weeks, the effect has been amazing, especially on my pores and any inflammation. I honestly don't think my skin has ever looked this good. Who knew it could be so effective??
Thank you for sharing!
Are you expected to peel?
(I'm asking because I'm suffering the same –big pores – on the nose as a nice little extra they are clogged up, turning into nasty blackheads.
Plus I'm haunted by a million ugly freckles. Seriously, I'd trade a decade of my life for flawless skin – a tone that is more on the dark side, rather showing an even bronze tan than all shades between rose pink and red :-( )
