My body took quite a knock after my second child....

My body took quite a knock after my second child. My tummy was permanently convex with very, very wrinkled skin. My left breast had also sagged lower than my right due to a lactation issue in my right breast. Met with a PS who said I had diastasis recti (separation of ab muscles). The muscles had separated by 8cm (usually only 4cm for a mommy that has had several babies, this was the largest separation he has yet seen). This separation was what was creating my convex shape of the tummy and the best way to fix this would be a Tummy Tuck where they would remove the excess skin and stitch the muscles back together.

Surgery was scheduled and off I went for an abdominoplasty and breast augmentation. I awoke from the anaesthesia very groggy and in quite some pain. The first thing I asked for was pain meds, they happily obliged soon after. I was taped up with sticky bandage all over the top and bottom of my breast and also had a bandage all over my tummy that I was too afraid to remove and see - and so I could not see the results properly until 4 days after surgery when the drains and sticky bandage was all removed. This event was a story ALL on it's own, the poor surgeon had to endure a lot with me, I'm not particularly good with getting plasters removed...

I am super happy with the results so far. I feel the PS chose the size beautifully and I feel AMAZING! Pain for the TT was comparable to my c-sections, main difference is that this surgery required significantly more rest and recovery time. Especially because of the fact that you must stand bent over after a TT, where as a c-section you are encouraged to stand upright as soon as you climb out of the bed for the first time. Walking bent over is quite difficult for me. The BA hasn't been much of a problem, I do feel a bit of cramping under my left arm by the connecting pec muscles, but that is to be expected. These new babies feel just like my own, even if they're a bit swollen and hard at the moment. I just feel so beautiful when I look down and there is more than just a flat chest and a swollen tummy. Chest out and tummy in is a MUCH better feeling!

Just over a week post op I couldn't resist the need for a little shop (it was the first time I felt I could stand a little straighter and wouldn't look a little strange walking through a shopping centre). Hubby was super keen to see what I would look like in a bikini and I must say I may have been even more excited. I felt so amazing seeing myself in a bikini with some upper pole magic going on. Before I wouldn't even dream of putting a bikini on, it never suited my flat chested-ness. This was more fun than I am able to admit!

Anyway, looking forward to becoming more active and strutting my stuff

Dr Weyers was such an amazing Dr! He answered all my million questions and with his artistic abilities I felt this would be a work of art for him. It seems his profession is partly his passion and partly his great ability. His bedside manners are fantastic and he really was just amazing. His staff are friendly and helpful and sweet. I don't believe I could have found a better Dr!! I don't know how else to shout his appraisal, but to say, HE WAS AMAZING!!
