Need more surgery to fix upper lip - I have a ridge and marionette lines

Going to Need More Surgery to Fix Upper Lip

Terrific659312
I had lower face lift, with SMAS put in my upper lip and corners of mouth. The SMAS was placed above my top lip and when I went back for follow up I was told that is the right place. Second visit he squeezed it hard trying to move the SMAS down into my lip. I asked if he was going to fix it and was told it was going to settle in. It didn't and now I have a ridge that sticks out over my top lip and I still have the marionette lines at the corners of my mouth too. I'm very disappointed. Lower lift did improve my jowls though. I also had an eyebrow lift, I could feel the tightness of my forehead under the skin but my eyebrows weren't actually lifted. I didn't get what I paid for.

I'm sorry also that you're not happy. I can see that your eyebrows look lifted....did you have an endoscopic brow lift? I'm also wondering if you had a neck lift. I hope you can have the procedures you want in the future.

I did have the endoscopic brow lift and neck lift. The neck lift is good, I'm happy with that part.

I have been researching facelifts. Your neck looks good!! I Just want to understand what it means to have "SMAS put into your upper lip and corners of your mouth"? Thank you for responding.

It's the layer of fat and tissue under the ski. That is removed during the facelift.. it is used to plump the lips and fill out the marionette lines in the corners of the mouth. Mine wasn't placed correctly and I have like a rope of tissue above my top lip that sticks out even more when I smile making my top lip look like a monkey lip. :(
