Have used Dr Rousso for a long time and have always had good results. He is truly an artist! Very truthful with what you can expect of outcomes.Staff is wonderful and there to accommodate your needs.Great spa area!
Been going for over 10 years. He is kind thoughtful and the absolute best. My needs have changed over the years and he has easily adapted with the changes as I age so I look my best. Practically no down time as very little brushing or swelling every time. I am 66
Dr. Rousso and his staff are friendly, organized, and talented. I never felt left in the dark or confused. The process was smooth from the start. They gave amazing handouts for instructions to prepare for surgery, what to expect before, during, and after surgery, what meds to take/not take. I felt like I was very well cared for.
In my eyes Dr. Rousso is a genius. I’ll start out by saying his staff is nothing less than wonderful. They are kind, patient, efficient and were never anything less than a pleasure to work with. After my surgery I had almost no bruising, very little swelling, and some soreness. I almost started to think he couldn’t possibly have addressed all the issues I wanted tweaked. But over the following weeks/months my nose looks exactly how I wanted it to and I don’t even know how he did it! Lol. The things I wanted fixed/changed I had assumed I would have incisions or swelling in those areas, but somehow he miraculously made the most amazing changes in the least invasive ways possible. I truly look at my nose and wonder how he did it. I feel extremely lucky to have Dr. Rousso, and Dr. Adams as well, here in my state of Alabama. And I give myself a little pat on the back as well for doing some dang good research and finding such a wonderful doctor right in my own back yard. Knowing what I know now, I would have flown across the country to him if I had to. I can’t see any scenario where choosing Dr. Rousso for rhinoplasty could not be the right choice.
Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery is amazing! From the first phone call with Vikki, to check out, I was truly blown away by the outstanding level of professionalism, safety and care. Dr. Rousso’s nurses, Liz and Dawn are fun and exceptionally informative! Dr. Rousso is both a medical artist and a magician. He is a world renowned leader in facial plastic surgery for a reason. He combines an artistic eye with extraordinary skill and a deep understanding of facial symmetry. He restored a natural, youthful appearance to my face that I didn’t think was possible.
Absolutely incredible. Dr. Rousso is so professional and kind, and the end result of my nose is phenomenal. I could not be happier. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a rhinoplasty.
I Didn’t know what to expect but it was Extensive: I arrived slightly early for consultation and was asked to complete a journal of paperwork before my appt. The facial photographer was very comprehensive, his long time & dedicated nurse was also knowledgeable & informational. Last but not least Dr Rousso walked in and designed my new face right before my eyes! They estimated at least 5-1/2 hours surgery with all his notes of written details. This is why I chose to pay HIM. He also had a very youthful doctor who is in fellowship sitting in the room quietly learning & listening during our appt. I need a specialist for this job so I opted OUT of the choice I was given to hire the intern. He will NOT be my surgeon, which was confirmed by scheduler afterward. She was delightful and asked Dr Rousso about the dates I had requested which he honored. She also went over several pages of homework and information for me to have accomplished before during and after surgery and gave me a copy. I guess you can tell I was there a while. I was pleased with the initial meeting and the date I was able to obtain for my facelift. (I Will Update my documentary as I get closer). Surgery is In Mid January. I have really been helped by all the other posts on RealSelf. I hope my experience will be great so it will be beneficial to all who are reading. Updated on 26 Oct 2018: I’m reading your posts everyday and so thankful for your transparency with your experiences with your procedures and your doctors. There are more than a few RealSelfers who are removing their chin implants because they have dropped or ruined beautiful smiles or lumpy. I’m asking myself, is my old chin that bad to replace it with a chance of these occurring problems? Not sure this one is worth the gamble. A few questions for my doctor may be in order. I will all post no makeup pic later. Updated on 29 Nov 2018: I will post a NO MAKEUP PIC BEFORE SURGERY. Dr Rousso’s recommendations: 5-1/2 hrs Temple cheek neck lift/forehead reduction SMAS ML & NL folds Upper-Lower eyelids SMAS Lips Chin Implant (Still have to get more comfortable about this part) Fraxel Laser Perioral & Lower eyelids Plasma skin resurface cheeks, nose, forehead (I thought he was also doing my neck and chest) so I have to ask him again. Updated on 22 Dec 2018: It’s 12/21/18. The Scheduling Depart. Called for full pre-payment, SO I GUESS IT’S OFFICIALLY SET TO GO. I will see my PS after Christmas for a refresher consult. I have lost 10 pounds & holding. I hope to drop at least 10 more. The countdown is on. 21 Days until I go in to give my face to someone to make upgrades because i need an expert! So scary. Yikes!! I promised pics of my naked face (no makeup, no moisturizer, except I still have old perm.eyeliner which was applied many yrs ago). I am not a smoker (can’t even stand to smell it). I never realized these mouth lines. It’s Amazing once you actually begin paying attn to yourself (instead of everyone else ALL the time). Here it goes: I was going to mark areas on face but it is virtually the whole face to mark. lol! I hope my recovery is not horrible but goes smoothly. My only baby sister passed away and my parents are aging & going to need more of my assistance since I’m the only family left now. If I don’t do something for myself now, I may never be able to. I have never like to bother people for help so let’s hope for no hiccups. I’m a productive multi-tasker, but I’m ready to do take a break from the outside world to do this. (Plz say a prayer for me). I want to look beautiful and ready to go back out in the world looking and feeling amazing, with new endeavors that make a difference for others! Updated on 4 Jan 2019: I’ve heard taking pic lying on your back can offer a similar look of a facelift so I decided to try. I fluffed my upper lip with my tongue to figure out fullness needed on lips. I can’t do anything to correct drooping on facing left eye. With only 7 days before surgery, it’s time o examine, evaluate, and tweek anything and everything. I’m used to details and punch lists before my interior design reveals! Updated on 8 Jan 2019: Always something last minute to throw a kink in things: 1. The final medical clearance was delayed but we teamed up on calling my doctors office for paperwork. 2. My doctor reviewed my file with me and we crossed all the T’s & dotted all the i’s together (I’m so glad to have this pleasant peace in my heart of hearts going forward. Even though I’m naturally scared. The original facial profile he mapped out for surgery on last visit was missing) so he did a brand new updated specification list and profile for his notes (THERE IS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING)! My face is not as fat now because of my 10-12 pound weight loss so it’s a great thing. 3. I see my hair stylist today for a cut (better get it done now, it will be a while). 4. I will prepare my room at home & Get last minute grooming needs and prep my overnight bag the rest of week. 5. I plan to get anything my elderly father needs by Thursday (he now lives an hour away) and talk to my son who lives in Florida. Gotta take care of family. 6. My husband will help me at home. I hope. Lol! If I don’t scare him to death. Updated on 14 Jan 2019: I will update soon. Can’t see to type very swollen but doing pretty good..I’m. Following my doctors orders line by line. Pics to come. Updated on 18 Jan 2019: Feeling so good and ready to get this show on the road_ IVE COME A LONG WAY BABY from a 6 hour surgery but still another WEEK of doing the same TO GO . Dr Rousso very pleased! Updated on 22 Jan 2019: HI RealSelfers! Happy to say most all parts of recovery are really going well. However I am having fits with my LEFT EYE PROCEDURE and the deep bruising on left side of neck. After speaking with Dr Rousso office yesterday, we are hoping the lymphatic will drain out some of the blockage of toxins from the surgery and the swelling will subside on this side. If it’s just swelling, my left eye will catch up with my right eye. If not, I could be one of the rare instances for an eye revision. My droopy left eye was the reason I had an eye lift surgery with the goal to see better again in the first place. I look like a really strange eyed girl but I’m reading them as much as possible and since I wear glasses, I really can’t read & that’s a bummer. I’m giving it all the love I can this week before I go back to doctor on Friday for 2 week removal of earlobe stitches. Here’s some pics. My hairline and ears look remarkable! I’m getting used to my lips because they are starting to settle. I had a CO2 lazer resurface on my face and there are still some dead skin spots left to fall off. 56 years of old takes a while! But I’m definitely excited to see glowing skin and wig smooth neck & to get a clearance to style my hair again. I still take 3-4 showers a day because of the lazer procedure. It’s a lot of work but I think It will all be worth it. I’ll keep you posted free my 2 week evaluation!! Updated on 25 Jan 2019: This doesn’t count as my COMING OUT PARTY pics but I want to update a NO-MAKEUP from my 2 week post op evaluation. I was so happy to semi-style hair (no products today- yet) ALL my stitches have been removed o free today & going forward I can use makeup & hairspray!!!!! I’m happy to report the diagnosis on my eyes was extreme sensitivity to the ointment I have to use day and night and now it has been changed. Fatty face/neck/lips are just swelling & bruising which will eventually come down its time. This is a “work in progress” so FOR NOW, Here’s my FAT FACE pics. Stay tuned because I plan to post THE NEW BEAUTIFUL ME when I get dressed up for my COMING OUT PARTY on Valentine’s Day! I will say that even though ‘‘this has been a challenge, 2-4 weeks of repair of almost 60 years is going to be worth it. Cheers!! Updated on 4 Feb 2019: Swelling is sill very noticed in real life especially in my eye and puffy cheeks.. I’m seeing better though but still dry so I keep ointment in at all times. I really My hope eyes even out. I am making progress and doing my best to stay positive but smile is too tight needs to settle it really look weird. I have swelling in neck on 1 side bulges. Maybe it’s just tripped fluid I always get happy when it’s time to see DR Rousso because he takes care of me. Updated on 18 Feb 2019: I return in 1 week for follow up with DR Rousso.. I Kept hoping my eyes would heal symmetrical. I still have swelling. And trying to be patient. I had SMAS Facelift, forehead reduction, endoscopic brow lift, upper/lower bleth, SMAS Lip, Neck Lit, and CO2 laser resurface. Updated on 22 Feb 2019: I have made a lot of progress with healing. ???? My scars are almost invisible and my doctor cut very clean & straight. I called after my last visit a few weeks ago about more sutures (felt like wires)still in my Ears and April said they can stay or they can go but if you want to leave them in there isn’t a problem and he can remove them later. Well I guess he will see them Monday because they are hanging in there still sore and swollen for my next visit. I only have a few concerns to discuss, but overall I feel my skin is more vibrant, and my neck looks smoother (I’m just concerned about the neck bands when I hold my head certain directions I can see the ‘old’ me again. ?? 1. Check out discoloration on (both sides) of face (I asked about this during my earlier follow up visit) it’s suppose to be CO2 slothing / says suppose to disappear as skin falls off. ????? 2. My eye lift procedure is self explanatory. Hoping it is only because of Swelling (maybe -maybe not)? 3. My SMAS Lip surgery is all but GONE dissolved. I dream of Pretty Lips. I wanted an Upper lip again! I think fillers would have lasted longer. ???? 4. There is still swelling in my neck so I think it is also is affecting the brow lift symmetry. (Speaking of Brows. / I used to have thick brows but they just started falling out! What can be done besides makeup filler?? Need Help Bad. Updated on 2 Mar 2019: Vera was my surgery nurse and I give her 5 star! Johnna was great even though she was in charge of taking my money Lol! Vicki gets me to who I need the few times I had to call. Went in for 6 wk followup and Liz jumped in there to help with my List from question folder. And Dr Cranford tagged her to see how I was progressing which he has from week 1!! and then the ultimate expert (my PS Dr Rousso) walks in. I really thought he wouldn’t spend much more time with me that’s why I kept a quick rolling list of my top concerns and questions going forward (but He said Oh Yes I will go over them with you) which was super good for my numb, sore, ears to hear. Lol!! He answered everything 1 by 1. I love walking away with a sense of understanding what I can & should not do for the next 3 months! Most of my concerns were dealing with my eyes. I’ll wait to see if those neck bands get more prominent but I have to wait 3 months for my next evaluation to see how it goes (no pun intended) in order to let the swelling continue to subside. I hope I get peace and results in eyes & neck . I still can’t do certain things but added back a few things on the approved list. I just have seen other eye lift procedures that seem to show clear improvements much sooner - that’s why it is concerning. ???? So Patience is A Virtue. Here’s a Throw Back pic of me 20 years ago at age 37 from then and Now. (I’m a Work in progress but I deserve To Try). it)! Updated on 2 Mar 2019: I’m a Wok in Progress but at least I’m trying )!! Updated on 11 Mar 2019: Things are feeling and looking better everyday! My hopes for 3 areas to have pretty results as I continue to heal: Even Eyelids, Upper Lip, & No ugly neck bands. My bruises are pretty much gone so not as much makeup to cover. I still have a stubborn scar on outside of my left eyelid corner but my forehead and ears are clearing up well I am numb on top of head and I’m beginning to get some feeling back on my ears After massage, my scar tissue under my chin is smoothing out. I still have swelling or maybe fluid pockets in my neck. I don’t know if you can tell. I hope that it subsides soon to be able to get an idea how everything looks. I enjoy getting RealSelfers comments & objectivity. I’m still waiting for my eyes to gain full strength to help with drooping Imdure there is still swelling ugh. I have to really work at the pics I submit but most show the weak eye at different angles. Updated on 13 Mar 2019: Before Dec 21/ Surgery Jan 11/ RECOVERY PROGRESS NOW Mar 13 Updated on 16 Mar 2019: I know I look better but the main reason for FAce, Neck Lift & SMAS Lip On Jan 11 was repair. I hope my surgeon can manage it as a permanent reset if it doesn’t recover-on it’s on. Updated on 22 Mar 2019: NO Makeup. -Trying to see progress without masking or hiding & adjusting bad spots with makeup. Everybody looks better when they are going somewhere dressed up. I don’t feel like posting my neck yet. I am working on the more aggressive massaging so I’ll wait so it looks better. This is all for today. Another bummer... My skin is a lot smoother from the C02 Laser but it seems like I will still need to revert to Botox in my forehead/furrows between eyes for wrinkles (that area is inherited). Best wishes & I Hope everyone is healing well. Updated on 26 Mar 2019: I SEE progress with my Eyes, Neck, & I guess if I build up my Upper Lip Line with liner Since the SMAS upper lip surgery-has dissolved only since Jan 11! I can feel much more relief to know it’s finally getting somewhere. The recovery has been 1 step forward and 2 steps back which can be a roller coaster of emotions. But Look at me now. Thank you Dr Rousso. I absolutely Love you!! Updated on 4 Apr 2019: 1 more week until my 3 Month post op Anniversary. I feel great and things are beginning to feel more normal. I still have numbness on 1 ear, around temples. & top of my head feels like I’m wearing a wig. But much much better. I try to keep my swelling down and I’m following PS instructions until my next visit in May. Cheers!!! Updated on 11 Apr 2019: I LOVE MY FACELIFT! But there are 2 areas that disappoint me : 1. Eye is still NOT Where I hoped it would be 2. My upper lip has to be drawn in to get it level. However, My skin is jut perfect. I see those ugly winkles in my forehead/furrow- which are inherited. I used to use Botox . .Bummer . Looks like I may have to revisit the “old fix”. My neck was bunching under chin but massaging and applying pressure has helped smooth it out. Scars are almost transparent except neck & head still ITCHES!!! Updated on 17 May 2019: I Am scheduled to return for Doctor Visit on Monday!! I FEEL FANTASTIC with some areas on my head & ears that still feel hard/numb. I tried to let you hair grow to have long locks but I ran out of patience and had it cut for summer. I don’t think I look a lot different, just toned, better & fresher, especially my neck & skin texture. Wow! The nips & tucks help me to not look as though l am tired & mad all the time (but wasn’t). I don’t feel I received the complete results I was seeking in 2 of the multiple procedures: I have some disappointment with my left eye result and I plan to ask my PS how he can manage it for me. I had rather my surgeon be conservative than scissor happy but in rare cases, you do need a little more to make it symmetrical. Unless I hold my eyes wide open for pics or do makeup artistry, My left eye projects much weaker than the other eye and this was my original need for the eyelid procedure in the first place. It still bothers me. It gave me fits for the entire recovery. My only other tweek is the UPPER Lip SMAS procedure. The upper lip is crooked and thin. The pictures only show the real real in my bare face photos. I am very happy I had all the hours of work my doctor recommended on my face and neck. Sometimes things require additional attention to get it right. Dr Rousso and his staff are fantastic! It was tough going for a while, but I would do it again and I would like to finish the areas that couldn’t be done consecutively with this surgery so I will also address my ugly chest and help to dissolve ugly forehead/crows feet wrinkles that are back in full force. After my appointment Monday, I will find out about the customer service and come back for that review. Hopefully I can get answers on fixing these 2 issues. Check out my Cell phone photos from BEFORE AND AFTER. Even 21 years go! Haha. Updated on 21 May 2019: This pic is just a good jawline and skin pic I took the day of my followup appt. During My followup visit with my PS, He went over my face and neck with a fine tooth comb examining my scars, remaining swollen areas etc, To say the least he was quite proud of my results and his artistry. He addressed the notes d pics I sent from ongoing communication over the months with his nurses and concluded that the continued droopiness In left eye was from weak muscle. He stated that had removed all the skin he could but unfortunately nothing else can be done. He also stated my SMAS upper lip was permanent, however the upper volume had diminished significantly. His recommended remedies are to add Botox and filler to both areas. As disappointed as Ian to have to spend repeated $600-800 per quarter totaling approx $2500 per year that includes my forehead wrinkles. I followed his recommendations with exception of doing anything else with my lips and provided him with a credit card. Here we go again! Keeping yourself up is like a car, house, or any other nice thing. It’s costly and never ending. I have always had a business and a career and Booz fillet was part of my routine for years so I thought that part of my life could be phased out with something more permanent by doing my procedures. . I am pleased with my overall results and I respect and appreciate all that my doctor has done to help me achieve the best that could be done with what he had to work with. Thank you Dr Rousso. Updated on 29 May 2019: Take a look. I am NOT looking up. Extremely Unhappy. This is the way I looked going into a long weekend with friends and family after I left his office. People noticed Big Time! this pic is 8 days after visit. During my visit, I accepted Dr. Rousso’s response that he removed all the skin he could from my eye and it was weak muscle in my eye that caused me not receive best results. I did want my forehead and crows feet injected. He said those wrinkles in forehead/crows feet needed Botox and facelift surgery PS could not fix it. This is how I look after he over injected. ???????????? Updated on 15 Jul 2019: Thank you Dr Rousso for your Magic in the surgery room! I am very happy with my results and I feel fantastic. I was concerned that even though he was very talented and experienced that he might have become complacent but that was not the case at all. I will be honest, It wasn’t a walk in the park recovering from the eyelids & disappointing that after all the hassle and expense that my left eye still droops. I ended up having to pay for Botox to even up both eyes which will temporarily help to manage it. I also still have some very strong wrinkles on the upper cheeks next to my eyes when I smile but overall, I don’t look mad all the time, my skin is glowing and I feel refreshed, younger and pretty again. I hope it lasts because I love it. You took years off. I’m glad I chose Dr Rousso and his staff.
This could have been. A very scary time but Dr. RUSSO takes his time. He does not get in a rush. He walks you through every step and is really spot on with anything he tells you. Excellent bedside manor and I, so pleased that he is my physician. He is one of a kind. His staff is also wonderful and always willing to go the extra mile.
Wonderful surgeon & excellent results! Dr. Rousso is amazing! I'd definitely recommend Rousso Facial Plastic Surgery. Practice staff is courteous from front office to clinical staff. Dr. Rousso is very caring and pays attention to patient's desired outcome. Updated on 10 Nov 2018: My experience with Dr. Rousso has been amazing from the start! I set up a consult with him and one other doctor in Birmingham. He answered all my questions and really cared about what I wanted and was looking for. It's been a year since my surgery, he's taken good care of me with the follow up appointments and making sure everything is healing how it should. I highly recommend him!
Went to him for Juvederm lip filler. The results are beyond amazing! Minimal pain, almost no pain and very little bruising after the procedure. Dr. Rousso's staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease. Highly recommend.
Great question. At your young age, your concerns regarding skin laxity are likely better addressed with noninvasive techniques. We offer a procedure called an Acculift, where we perform laser-assisted liposuction in the submental area and jowls, which both reduces fullness and tightens the skin. While we do harvest some fat from that procedure, it is generally not enough to create a significant lift in the upper cheeks. Fillers, such as Voluma, would likely be a better option to lift your cheeks and create more of the desired "inverted-pyramid" shape to your face. Fat transfer may be an option, but would likely require lipsuction from the abdomen in order to acquire enough fat to make a difference. Given your concerns, I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
Good afternoon! If you are concerned about laxity and jowling, at your age you are not too young to consider a surgical solution. In our office we offer a procedure called a "mini-lift" which is designed for younger patients like yourself who have concerns about facial aging, but it avoids some of the incisions associated with a traditional facelift. Some submental liposuction may also be beneficial for you. Regarding your nose, it might be worthwhile to discuss a rhinoplasty with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon if this is something that concerns you. A chin implant may help balance your profile, but it is hard to say for sure without an in-person evaluation and photography.
It would be optimal to have these both performed at the same time, and there are many surgeons who can provide both of these services together. It might be worthwhile to get a second opinion from a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who could perform both of these procedures. However, if you do have them done separately, I would recommend having the facelift first, as this will help guide the placement and amount of fat grafting needed.
Congratulations on the weight loss! Because you are young, your skin still has a lot of elasticity, which is great because it allowed your skin to snap back after the weight loss. While it's hard to evaluate from photographs alone, you do not appear to have any significant laxity along your jawline or submental area, which are the areas typically targeted with a facelift. Because of your young age and amount of elasticity in your skin, you are likely not a good candidate for face-lifting. You may wish to pursue some nonsurgical tightening options such a Radiofrequency Microneedling. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns further and discuss noninvasive skin tightening procedures and skin care.
Good afternoon! While it is difficult to make a true assessment without an in-person consultation, it seems like you have fairly significant laxity along the jawline and submental areas, which is more definitively addressed surgically. Filler may help and improve the appearance, but you will likely not get the improvement you are looking for without some type of surgical procedure to tighten the skin and underlying tissues. Sometimes, a combination of both surgery and filler is what will give you your best result. I would recommend a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for you.
