Full Facelift (+Forehead, Neck) Blepharoplasty, Fat Grafting - 67 Years
I am 67 years old and I flew to Seoul earlier this month for a facelift. I’ve always taken good care of my skin but over the last 4 or 5 years I noticed dramatic aging that skincare could not take care of anymore. After researching various rejuvenation treatments I finally decided that surgery would be the best investment for lasting results. My daughter lives in South Korea and recommended that I consider flying there for a facelift since the costs are lower than in the US and the results are very natural. Nana Plastic Surgery stood out to me because they had the most content online that showed the before and afters of women of similar age as me.
I flew to Seoul in early October and had a consultation with Nana Plastic Surgery facilitated with the help of Joyce from medical tourism concierge Beauty Hopper.
The consultation was very detailed and I met with Dr. Jeong Mi Sun who was the same surgeon that had operated on the other women featured on their Youtube channel. We decided to do a endoscopic forehead lift, full deep plane face lift, neck lift as well as upper and lower blepharoplasty. The lower blepharoplasty was a revision since I had first done a lower eyelid lift back in 2014. I decided to also add some fat grafting to replace volume loss and make the results appear more natural.
I was told the surgery would be over 7 hours long which was daunting but after the in-clinic health check I was cleared for surgery and they decided that it would be safer with general anesthesia. After the surgery, I stayed overnight while being cared for by two nurses. I’m not going to lie the first couple of hours were very uncomfortable because they had operated on my forehead last and they had notified me before the surgery that some people feel intense pain due to the nerves in that region. It was very painful but thankfully it subsided with medication and by the time I was discharged the next morning I felt pretty good.
You should have a guardian with you especially if you do your eyes because I couldn’t see well for the first two or three days. My daughter assisted me and by the 4th day we were able to go out for walks around the neighborhood.
One week post op I visited the clinic for a checkup and the surgeon was so surprised at how well I was healing that she approved to get all of my stitches removed! She said most patients have their facial stitches removed after two weeks. I was given some deswelling light and oxygen therapy treatments which I think were very effective too.
Now two weeks post op I still have some minor bruising around my neck and chin and after touring around Seoul for a few days I am ready to go back home to the US. Since I also received fat grafting my face feels firm in the areas where the fat was added but that will soften up over the next few weeks. I was told that swelling and healing will continue up until six months later so there can be some asymmetry at times so I will try to be patient. If there’s any issues Nana assured me that I can contact them at any time.
I’m very happy with the results and I think I look like I'm in my 40s again!
