55 Yo Facelift and Chin Implant - So Far So Good!

Have found realself to be immensely helpful in reviewing providers, procedures, results, the experience (process), and, mostly importantly, the expectations. So far 2 days post seems I will have amazing results. Excited! Everyone is super professional.

As many have noted, Danny is an excellent coordinator and very responsive to any questions. Arturo was a great liaison for the various appointments, and airport pickup was included, as well as to appointments, tests, and required medicine. The hotel is modern and excellent, with a supermarket and restaurants across the street, to pick up pre op supplies and have convenient food access. The people are the hospital were professional and kind. I will say that certain Spanish phrases should be learned for the hospital in case you do not get a nurse who speaks English (there are different nurses for different types of help. Main nurse on shift always seemed to be speak English). The doctor is an artist and highly competent and offered option of chin lift which zi think will be great, and candidly turned down other options he did not think I needed.. i strongly recommend bringing arnica,, bromelain for before and after, and tramadol or similar for day after surgery once they remove pain killer drip.. otherwise you might be in for a very rough day or two (I could tell I managed to avoid the most serious pain). Can't wait to see results.

Day 3

I was able to stop the tramadol after 1 day post op, though it would have been very difficult without it. For some reason a lot of time going to bathroom, but I have been drinking a ton of water. I made a mistake of laying down bodywise and then having just head up the first day and night at hotel, and that is a mistake. It is better to sit up with a travel pillow (which I had brought). The pressure on back of my neck when sitting lower also caused start of sciatica. So better to sit upright and let the travel pillow protect you on either side. Now I have a lot of draining needed I might not have required. It was pretty aggressive treatment, which I wanted, so of course there is a ton of swelling. I expected it from all the photos I have seen on facelift, which I am grateful for. The nurse has come by twice to check on me. The breakfast buffet at the hotel (included) a godsend. My first post release appointment with Dr will be on day 5 post op. I am not expecting swelling to go down for a while, so all is well.

Greetings and congratulations! Did you stay in a hospital for one night? Where are you staying now? Did you travel with anyone who is helping take care of you? How long are you staying in Cancun to recuperate?

Hi, the surgery covers transportation to and from airport, transport to preoperative and postoperative appointments, 6 nights hotel which includes a hearty breakfast, one night overnight in hospital. I am in hotel. I believe it will be better to stay in this hotel for two weeks post though I know I could leave sooner. Overall, I plan to stay in Mexico for at least six weeks, as my work is remote. I came alone, and my Spanish is ok. I will write a separate post on what I feel are essential Spanish phrases that must be known for optimal experience when in hospital to help them triage the need properly, as not everyone there speaks English, though many do. I am an independent traveler, so this feels ok for me. Having said that, you want to download whatsapp to stay in touch with Danny and be in hotel room with phone so they could help in unlikely possibility of having a complication. Having someone is a good idea, but not strictly required imo.

I have service animal too (dog) who stayed in kennel two nights. He is small and does not pull. Helps me on my walks and is concerned and a good cuddle:) I have a crate for him and make sure we go out regularly as is required by Dr anyway (walk 6-8 times a day for at least 5 mins)

How much did you pay please. Thank you

8400 USD plus some out of pocket for tests (maybe 200 USD on tests). Not sure why does not show at top of review because I did add it. Twice. :( . Also, be aware there is $500 of that amount that is required via Paypal at time of scheduling. And scheduling will not occur until Dr. Carmona reviews your photos to make sure what you are requesting seems suitable for your age and face. Which makes total sense to me. Dr Carmona does not charge to review the photos, as many surgeons do.

Day 4

My bruises typically heal slowly. These are healing fast, with aid of Bromelain and Arnica tablets. Dr says no creams or moisturizers on face. I am washing twice a day. I like how artistic he put the threads. Yes, it looks weird but almost like someone did some funky makeup and the bandaid in center of forehead and side of eyes partially, mostly covers the knot in center of eyes lol. I just wear sunglasses and a big beautiful silk scarf over loose cotton v neck nightgown (like a dress) and I look highly passable as taking required walks and getting breakfast. Today it is much tighter on top of cheekbones and I have that weird pasty smile everyone has after facelift surgery initially, as expected. Literally, your nerves are growing back. A lot of the doctors just pull up muscle and skin, but fat pads have fallen! So just lifting the pants, so to speak, over lumpy misshapen fat. That's why I noticed this doc's results are so good. He removes the jowls and lower chin fat that fell as you aged. For this reason I think his patients look much more refreshed after his procedures, and is one of the reasons I chose him.
It is important to eat protein after surgery and I has some great chicken enchiladas from La Parilla across the street mixed with beans and cauliflower left over from breakfast. Dr says it is important not to diet. Your body needs strength and nutrition to heal.
