Smart Lipo on my thighs and knees
$4,500
Hello my name is Ena and I'm 37. I'm French living in the Germany.
I'm 5'2 and weight 114lbs. You look at this and you think "wow you don't need lipo". Well I struggled with this thought also, for years. I kept looking at the mirror, not liking my thighs and knees, haven't wore a short skirt or short dress in years and wondered if I needed lipo at some point...After all these years exercising, eating pretty healthy...I tried personal trainers and aesthetic massages but nothing seemed to work. I was getting thinner on the top (lost all my boobs) but still the fat around my thighs never disappeared. This is due to my body shape, mostly genetic and the fact that the more you age the more you struggle getting rid of unwanted fat.
Finally I decided to get Smart Lipo, here in Europe they call it Laserlipolisis. I'm on day 3 post op, here's a brief recap of what's happening so far:
-I got work done on my inner thighs, frontal thighs, external thighs and knees. 4 zones total.
-surgery was a breeze. Technically with smart lipo you don't need general anesthesia, only local. But I asked to get twilight/sedation anesthesia too because I did not want to be awake, feel any pain or understand what was going on around me lol
-of course someone needs to take you to the hospital and drive you home. You can't do that yourself and they don't allow you to do so. My friend Vera came with me
-after surgery you will barely feel any pain. Strange? Yes! Lucky? Not really. Because you will have many other reasons to feel miserable. #1 the compression garment is so tight but so tight that you feel your blood is not circulating, plus you have pads medication wrapped around your body that makes the garment even tighter. Longest 48hrs of my life. After 48hrs you can remove the pads (thank God) you take a quick shower and put the compression garment back on. #2 you might not feel pain but your whole body is super swollen and that causes a lot of discomfort. For example you can barely sit down or lay down on a couch. I'm on day 3 and barely sleep at night because I'm so swollen I have to take walks every couple of hours. I found helpful to have my legs on a pillow when I lay down. #3 going to the bathroom. my compression garment has a hole to make things easier but it's still very challenging, plus you can't sit on the toilet because you are very bruised and it hurts.
#4 I got a bad reaction on my swollen calf. The tape the doctor put to hold the pads gave me an allergy because of the glue and my skin peeled off. Now it's leaking like crazy. #5 the antibiotics gave me strong intestine problems for the first 2 days (not easy to manage when you rely on that garment hole)
MY CONSIDERATIONS 3 DAYS POST OP
1) it's still to early to see any changes so far. My body is very swollen and looks like before surgery. But I was ready for it, I knew it will take time to see results. Also I have a lot of bruising.
2) don't believe the advertisement "with smart lipo you can go back to your daily routine right away and go back to work the following day". Not true, allow yourself time, I would say at least 1 week. I treated 4 areas of my body, maybe if you treat only one area recovery is faster but still how can you go to work walking like a robot ? How can you sit for hours in the office? Your legs need to move. Plus you are sore, not in pain, but that type of soreness like you never stepped into a gym before and you do 1000 squats all at once.
3) you must do lymphatic massages, at least 10, 1hr massage each session, starting 2 days post op. I went yesterday for the first time and it helped with the swelling. I'm having 3 massages done this week. On top of that you have to massage your skin with Arnica twice a day (another reason to take plenty of time off, because you must dedicate time for this).
4) take long walks right away. This was impossible for me to do before 48hrs period because I was so shrunk into the garment + the pads I could barely move so I was walking in my living room. But yesterday after I removed the medication I took 1 hr walk and I will do that everyday now. The best part of this surgery was timing. Unfortunately with Covid being around and Germany in lockdown we are stuck into our homes and I'm smart working so I have plenty of time to take care of myself, not having the pressure of being out there in public.
I will post some pictures soon
