Excited and nervous!

I am getting Smartlipo on January 6th to my stomach, flanks, sides, and bra roll. I originally wanted just my stomach but my doctor and his team suggested that I'd be much happier if I do everything at once. I also asked for general anesthesia. I am prone to panic attacks and don't think I'd handle being awake very well. Excited and nervous!
My pre-op is a few days post Christmas. I had bloodwork done this week because of the holidays and everything came back normal. I've purchased black sweatpants and a hoodie to come home in (they stressed that I'd want black) as well as a board, additional compression garments, and a waterproof mattress cover (at least for night 1). Anything else I'm forgetting? I have two lymphatic massage appointments scheduled (2 and 4 weeks post treatment). Will put up "before" photos after they are taken at my pre-op.

All done!
I forgot to mention that I didn’t realize I wouldn’t be able to take Melatonin leading to today. It was hard not sleeping well, especially last night (nerves).
Surgery was at 2 today and I was so thirsty and hungry by the time I got in. The entire staff at Westlake is amazing. They were patient, kind, and explained everything very well.
Again, I opted for general anesthesia. I changed into a gown and a paper bra and undies in the exam room (same room I had my pre-op in). The needle for the IV was inserted there but the IV was not started until I was in the OR. As soon as I laid down, the nurses covered me, made sure I was comfortable, and put those weird things that circulate blood on my legs.
Travis, the anesthesia guru, told me he gave me something that would feel like I took two shots of vodka (haha!) and I felt more relaxed pretty quickly. He then put an oxygen mask over my mouth and said it might smell funny. I think I took two breaths and I was OUT.
I woke up to a nurse telling me my husband was there to pick me up. I was really woozy and a little nauseas.
I slept for most of the ride home. Walking in was tough. I immediately took my anti nausea meds and took my pain pill half an hour after. I drank a lot of water and snacked on some watermelon and now I’m feeling alert.
I am sore. I wouldn’t describe it as pain but I can definitely feel the incision (is that the right word for it?!) holes.
The one thing that really surprised me is all the blood/drainage. I was told I’d have less since I opted for general anesthesia. I can’t imagine how much I would have oozed otherwise! I bought mattress protector and laid out a bunch of towels this morning and I’m very glad I did.
I have an appointment tomorrow and I can’t wait.

My post-op appointment was great. My waist already looks SO much smaller. I am so excited to see what I’ll look like post swelling.
I can’t say enough amazing things about the entire team at Westlake, especially Dr. Chike-Obi. He is patient and kind and has done an amazing job every step of the way.
I am shocked by how different I already look.
I feel sore and stiff but am not in pain. I have been setting alarms for all medication and I’m sure that’s helping.
