how did you deal with the loose skin? did you have any remedies that would help it retract?

Hello! So I actually do have loose skin after being big for so many years there was just no way that I would not end up with any so I will be returning to Doctor Naim for a tummy tuck but honestly I am still happy that I made this decision I would much rather live with loose skin then to live with my excess weight that I carried for so many years.

Hi, I was wondering how you coped mentally after the surgery with not being able to eat much? I'm considering the surgery but I rely on food so much, my biggest fear is not coping mentally afterwards. Thank you

I'm about to do the surgery right now. And I'm realizing how scared I am to loose my emotional crutch.

Ah amazing, what date is your surgery? My consolation is everyone I see who has this done have no regrets and say it is so worth it, they must have had the same food issues and fears

So one thing I wish I did was mentally prepare prior, but honestly I got through it! Do your best to practice better eating habits and better ways for comfort that does not involve food and make sure you plan enough time off work after surgery. In my case I stayed home and only stepped out 30 min a day to walk around y block. And what helped me is to remind myself that I did this for a reason and if I I take any type of food in this delicate stage I can hurt myself badly. It wasn’t easy I won’t lie, but it was so worth it. The sacrifice is worth it. Realistically your stomach won’t tolerate the same type of food you usually enjoy. It’s a hit or miss. So even if you want to take certain things you might not enjoy it easily. And that’s ok don’t force your stomach too. Simply listen to your stomach when it’s full. Dont over eat, first signal of I’m full, stop. This is the whole purpose of the surgery. I hope this is helpful!

I had the surgery yesterday. It was really disheartening. I woke up and heard the nurses talking about how rediculous it was that I did this. :( It was quite painful and adding on this fear that I did something stupid and it's too late was depressing. I was barely on the 30 bmi mark. I did it because I binge eat and have used bulimia to maintain lower, but I eat like Iys my job to find the worst food I can find. I want to be healthy and about the obese level my siblings got to. But definitely makes me feel regretful when you hear someone say that....

Don't you listen to them! Not only is it supremely unprofessional but they have no idea what's in your head or your life or your reasons for making that choice. You might not be as big as some people doing this but that doesn't make your choice a bad one, don't regret it, grab it with both hands and let it take you to where you want to be! The pain on recovery will be short lived :)

Don’t listen to them they don’t know what you have gone through they just think they know what’s good for one and what’s not you will hear people who are against this kind of choice you were here many different comments just know that everybody’s journey is different everybody’s battle is different. Just follow your protein goals 60 to 80 a day if you are active in for more than 80 and you will be just fine and don’t over eat listen to your stomach when it’s full
