WORTH IT
Wasn't even considering this. One day I was on the hospital web site to pay a bill and noticed an ad for bariatric treatment. Started researching and went to a seminar. Originally was considering the balloon but after doing further surgery decided to do the sleeve. This program seemed very good with a lot of support after surgery. Took months to get all my testing done. Was originally scheduled for 1/31. Had to reschedule so I could get cataract surgery done before my eye doctor left the country for three months. Now scheduled for 3-6-17. Have my pre-op seminar and bloodwork on 2-14 and will find out more details and get more questions answered about what to expect. Can't wait to be able to buy regular size clothes! Needed a new winter coat and some new pants for work but put it off. Wearing the oldies. New summer clothes!

Start my pre-op diet tomorrow and go to sign consents with the doctor the next day. Went to the pre-op information class last week and got a lot of details on the procedure and time after. I need to get to the store today. Got rid of everything I won't be able to eat and need to finish stocking what I need to eat. I was surprised to see some people are on a total liquid diet prior to surgery. I am on no carb calorie restricted: two protein shake meals and one meal of 4 ounces of protein and 1/2 cup of veggies. I have been cutting down on carbs for the last several weeks to wean myself off of them. Need to get the house in order so I don't have to worry about anything when I get home.

Went to sign my consults today. Dr. is very personable. Got my blood thinner syringes for when I get home and my narcotics script filled. Went to Costco and stocked up on good meats for the rest of my pre-op diet and more protein shakes. Cut the meat into 4 ounce servings and put it through the Food Saver. Looking up recipes to make meat and veggies extra tasty since I will be eating such small amounts. Want to get the house extra spiffed up so I don't have to do much other than laundry and dishes for several days after getting home. Next I need to figure out what I will need to get from the grocery store for my meals after surgery. Got some Biotin since that is supposed to help prevent hair loss. My hair has already thinned just from the aging process. I don't need to lose any more! Looking forward to buying new spring/summer clothes.
