I was diagnosed in May 2012. Because the cancer was invasive, I was told the most important thing was getting it out within 2 weeks. He put in expanders at the same time as the double masectomy 5/31/12. December 27, 2012 he took out the expanders and put in implants. When I couldn't drive he scheduled appointments so my sister did not have to miss work.
