I had my breast augmentation almost 3 weeks ago. I am very pleased with my results so far.

It started out back in July where I had my initial consultation with Dr. Turowski. I arrived to his private practice in Skokie, IL, an affluent suburb northwest of Chicago. OMG. His facility was beautiful. It looked brand new and very clean. I had already consulted with 4 other surgeons, 3 of which did not have their own practice (which is fine, of course) and 1 who had a private practice in Highland Park which was soooo far away from where I live (Chicago). Anyways, the front desk staff were really nice and helpful. And one of the girls was SOOOO PRETTY (found out later that she had work done by Dr. Turowski....what a great inspiration!) During my consult, he answered all of my questions and gave me a recommendation for what he believed would give me a natural look. I felt like the other doctors I visited before said "what size do you want?" and left it entirely up to me. I wanted to be fuller and natural, a small C cup. Dr. Turowski gave me a range, between 270cc-350cc. He said it wouldn't be worth going below 270cc and it would start to look fake at 350cc. He said 300cc would be perfect. This is exactly the guidance I needed as a patient. I don't know any better! So after reviewing his very large collection of breast aug photos, almost all of his patients looked beautiful and natural. I decided to trust his judgement, and I AM SO HAPPY I DID. Ladies: you need to find a plastic surgeon you can trust. Look at their portfolio. Do a majority of the patients look fake? Too round? Too big? Look for a PS who consistently achieves desired results. That is what I did; and I got exactly what I wanted.

So I went with the 300cc Mentor Mod Plus silicone under the muscle, transaxillary incision. Another thing I wanted to discuss is capsular contracture (CC). I am very confident that Dr. Turowksi did EVERYTHING he could to prevent it. I went under the muscle, incision thru the armpit which is better than over the muscle and thru the nipple (I couldn't do the crease incision because of my skin tone scarring poorly). He used antibiotics in my IV, during the surgery, and I did a 5-day course after surgery. He also used the Keller Funnel which minimizes how much the implant is touched when entering the body to avoid contamination. All of these things help prevent CC. I am aware it could still happen to me, but if it does, I know it'll just be bad luck as 3-5% of patients get CC. I am certain he really did the do the best he could. I had minimal bruising after my surgery which to me says the trauma to my tissues was very limited. THANK YOU for that!!! So far, no signs of CC so I hope it stays that way!

Anyways. My recovery was awful. Immediately after surgery, I was in so much pain even though I had a pain pump. I didn't vomit or get sick, but felt nauseous so I took my anti-nausea pill that I was prescribed beforehand. I was due to return the very next day for him to remove my pain pump and bandages. It was Labor Day weekend and the office was closed but he still came in just for me. I am so grateful for that. Doctors NEVER have time to enjoy their lives and be with their families so I felt guilty taking that away from him even though it was only for 10 minutes. But he was so nice about it and said everything looked great.

I was in pain for a full week and my breasts looked tight, felt hard, and looked square (this is all VERY NORMAL). I took oxycodone and muscle relaxers to help with the pain and tightness. Dr. Turowski said that smaller girls like me have a harder time recovering because of just that- we're petite and have tighter muscles and less breast tissue. I also felt really depressed from staying in the house and being isolated with my big freakish-looking boobs. I got so sad that I even regretted my decision. I realized that these emotions are ALL VERY NORMAL. But now I'm almost 3 weeks post op and my muscles have relaxed quite a bit and my breasts feel a lot softer. They aren't square anymore. And I'm off the drugs. I sill feel tight, but it's much more bearable. It will only continue to improve too!!! I can't wait to see how I'll look in a few more months! I am so happy now :)

I truly had a 5-star experience at Dr. Turowksi's practice. My phone calls and emails were always answered in a reasonable manner. I received a packet of info before my surgery so I knew how to prepare myself. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and return for other procedures in the future.

You do look great! I'm really getting excited to get mine done. I just hope 275 wasn't too small, if you went with 300. And I'm also getting the Mentor Mod Plus Silicone. I want to look natural. I figure I can always get a push up bra if I want to look bigger but I think I will be fine. I'm 5' 8", 150 lb. Scheduled for 12/22. You say you are petite though, right?

Hello! I'm having my BA with Dr. Turowski this Friday, the 4th:) I'm super excited but very anxious. I'm very petite as well and he told me I could go with 350 even 375 if I wanted to.. I'm going with 325 mod plus but I'm just wondering what your measurements are?? I'm 5'3" 107lb and I want a very natural look as well. I'm kind of surprised he told you 350 is the max you should go without looking fake when I have a very similar body type.
