I’ve been using skinbetter science to try it out because i heard people raving about it. my skin is having some SERIOUS purging when my skin was almost perfectly clear before. i did have a little bit of texture and some scarring because i used to struggle with bad cystic acne and it’s all coming back now with using these products but it’s only been about 2.5 weeks so i’m going to wait it out and see if it gets better. i was also on tretinoin for several years before that so my skin is used to exfoliation and i did monthly chemical peels also and other treatments so i’m not sure why these specific products are causing such a bad purge. if anyone has any advice please let me know!!!

I have been on Face Reality Vitamin A serum for 5 months and Skin Better Science Alpha Ret clearing serum for 1 month. Skin looks worse than before just like you said! I have never seen it purge so bad. Horrible horrible acne all over. What worked for me in the past was a very strong Benzol Peroxide and Face Reality's cleansers, toners, mandellic serums, and hydrating gels. I switched in the first place because of shipping costs but now I have to go back and suck it up! I also got told I may have PCOS by an esthetician so maybe that's something you can look into as well. I ordered a womens hormone test from Everlywell which is a pretty in depth and tests it all. So we will see. Praying for you girl. It's so tough to deal with acne. One more thing that has helped big time was: Fragrance free detergent, no fabric softener, change pillowcase every night, take zinc and strong fish oils. This was long but youre not alone!!!

SAME thing with me! Last year I gave the alpharet 16 weeks and I continually broke out! So I just stopped using it.
I just started again with the cleansing gel, and oxygen infusion and I’m having the same issue within the first 2.5 weeks! Maybe there’s ingredients in the skinbetter products we can’t tolerate.
Did it get better ??

What's your skin type? If you're oily, I would say they should have had you on Oxygen Wash, and AlphaRet Clearing Serum. Then Hydration boosting cream.

I know I'm late, but it was the Trio. Oily skin types no matter what anyone says don't always do well with Trio in my profesional experience.

I used Trio and broke out badly too after a week then I stopped using it. This product isn't oil free and irritant free

Did anyone else experience purging while using the alpharet overnight cream or the moisturizer and vitamin C cream from SkinBetter Science or know why this could be happening? please let me know what your experiences were with these products or if this is expected or not! It’s been a month now and my skin is still breaking out everywhere when it wasn’t before i started using it. I feel like it ruined my skin and i’m not sure what to do!

I love all the Skinbetter products except the Alto serum as I’ve come to accept that my skin breaks out from any product with Vit c

Yes the overnight cream just never worked for me sadly… it was too strong !

I second this. I used ZO for about 6 months, best skin of my entire life. I then thought to myself "oh why not switch over to skin better science" I've been using strictly an entire skin better science routine consistently for two years, holding out and hoping it would "get better" and have never had worse skin in my life. Switched back to ZO recently, and my skin is finally clearing up.

I can't use the skin better Alto Advanced bc of the purging. I don't know what in the product is causing it but I know it's not Vitamin C bc I started using a separate vit c product with no issues. I also started using neo cutis bio serum firm and my skin has never looked better! I just ran out of the neo and tried to use the skin better for 2 days and woke up this morning with 4 huge zits. Haven't had a break out in months so I will never use this product again. I do use the skin better alpha ret night cream and the sunscreen with no problems so it's something in their Alto product that is casing my break outs.

So, I would go with the regular alto. the advanced is heavier in my opinion and not the best for oily skin types. Although they would say it's not I feel like Alto Advanced is before for dry to mature skin types.
You should not be purging that happens with retinoids
I would stop using and try to get a refund
