Skinbetter Science Alto Defense Serum and AlphaRet Overnight Cream

WORTH IT$260

Yesterday, I started using two Skinbetter Science products, the Alto Defense Serum and AlphaRet overnight cream. My goal for the overnight cream is to reduce the fine lines on my forehead. For the Alto Defense serum, I am hoping for a generally more even skin tone and less redness. I’m also putting it on my neck so maybe it will help with the lines there. I’ll include a couple “before” pictures and update over the next six weeks.

My first impression of the overnight cream is that it goes on smoothly. I woke up this morning feeling very well-mosturized. It has a sunburn alert on the label, though, so I’m definitely going to need to wear sunscreen. I’m pale and prone to sunburn anyway. The Defense serum also goes on smoothly. Not much to say about it yet. Fingers crossed that it works!

I received this complimentary treatment through the RealSelf Insider program.

Thanks! I like the Alto Defense serum so far. The overnight cream has clogged my pores a bit but I know I haven’t given it enough time yet to really judge it.

Funny, some other participants also said its clogging their pores. I’m sure it’s only temporary. Hopefully. Good luck Hugs and light.

I have used an entire bottle of the serum. Although it was nice, it really didnt do anthing noticeable to my 60 year old skin. I would not waste my money on that one again. A cheap hyaluronic serum mixed with moisturizer is showing me more results for day.
I am now trying the overnight lotion and keeping my fingers crossed due to rave reviews. Two nights so far and no irritation whatsoever.

So I’ve been using both of these creams for a little over a week. I haven’t taken any comparison pictures but I have two thoughts on them so far.

One is that my neck *feels* much smoother. I don’t know if there is a difference in the lines yet but I’m hoping by six weeks I’ll see a big difference. I’ve been using the Alto Defense serum on my neck twice a day.

Unfortunately the overnight cream clogged the pores on my chin so I had a massive pimple for several days. Now I’m only putting the night cream on my forehead where I’m not as prone to breakouts.

I’ve been liking the overnight cream on my forehead a lot. I think it’s helped smooth the stubborn lines there. It does break me out if I put it on my chin so I wouldn’t recommend it for acne-prone skin. I’m less impressed with the defense serum but it does make my neck feel really smooth when I apply it there. I probably wouldn’t buy the defense serum but the overnight cream is really good.

Thank you, though I think the lighting makes my skin look a bit better than it really is. I’ll do an update with a picture that has lighting that’s closer to the “before.”

I was wearing makeup in this pic and I’m not in the others and the lighting was better. I didn’t use a filter, though. I wasn’t even thinking about the fact that I had make-up on before I uploaded the pic. I’ll have one more comparison pic later this week without makeup.
