Second time Halo - longer recovery but WORTH IT SO MUCH
5203anonJanuary 15, 2017
WORTH IT$1,750
This halo recovery given it was more "aggressive" 20% ablation and more dense and depth I think - sorry I am not 100% sure on technical - I don't care as I trust my provider who is so knowledgable, kind and conservative - was way MORE to deal with but now at day 5 I am SO HAPPY - this time my TEXTURE is dramactically changed and my skin color so much more even - I shed A LOT and had WAY more MENDS this time and WAY MORE swelling but overall It seems worth it - last time at this point I was discouraged but now I know what to expect and this time around was a better treatment setting for me. Very pleased - and keep in mind my skin was a challenge! - rosacea, melasma, pores, texture, sun damage galore.

Had another Halo Yesterday
5203anonJanuary 11, 2017
Hi there
I had my second Halo yesterday with the same clinic. I am super red and very swollen under my eyes as we did a bit more there. With that everything is the same as last time, just more swelling. Will keep track - it was nice to come here and remind myself that what I look like today is NOT much unlike what I did a year ago.

hi , why did you go in for a second? I had mine done end of december and still can't decide if I think it was worth it.. I would be curious to hear what you have to say

Hi there. When I had my first consult, I was told that a series of 2 would be optimal. I had some time off of work and so I decided to do it again more because of some persistent scars and texture changes/fine lines. first time around I did a "lighter" ablation and this time it was 20% - which was more for me. I am WAY more swollen but so far it is all the same. I guess I was so happy with the first results, that I thought my skin could look even better, ugh that sound vain and wrong as I write it though

no, you dont sound vain lol. We all want to improve and feel better. just some of us are harder on ourselves than others I think. I think I would have been fine to go back to work soon, just that swelling got terrible on me. Next time, if there is one, I am going to ask for steroids.

I am taking steriods as well - 20mg 1 day prior to the procedure and cont daily in the am once a day for another 4 (total of 5) could probably use more HA!

Big opinion change very happy....give it time!

I pix taken in bathroom with light on no flash same as before phot bare faced. I am a little over one month out and extremely happy. I went in for a one month fu and pix were taken and I was shocked at the before and after...same light , same bare face, same angles yet way a mother skin and more even tone and color. I really think it is hard to see the big picture day to day but in that manner it was obvious. Everyday I feel my skin gets better and better. My fine lines are nearly gone or so diminished it's not even noticeable and I do not wear any face makeup like I used too with heavy foundation plus concealer etc. I am content to walk out like this with my lashes on and some lipgloss (and massive sunscreen of course)
I just think that some of the effect is more gradual in some people like me but I am super pleased. I got a compliment on my skin this week and was shocked!
While not for everybody I am VERY pleased with the outcome. Doctor, staff and now, my skin. I feel more confident. I will probably do this yearly. I thought maybe another one was needed but this being a class act said he felt my results were so great he would not do another now and wait a year. That is awesome in an industry that can prey on vulnerable people's insecurities. I hope this helps someone!

What a great blog of your experience! This is so typical of the healing after a halo treatment. At one week you really do not see the result of the treatment; you are just finished with the first phase of healing at that point. Typically at 1 month the results are very noticeable, but just wait another couple months and they will be even better!

Your skin looks BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

I have had Scion Contour on my face once full face and again partial, NOT for the faint of heart to be sure but the results are great. The down time is a lot more than the Halo it sounds like. for the last few years since I do the Scion BBL 2-3 times a year as maintainence with good results. I am going to try the Halo after the first of the year and when my tan fades, yes I do use sunscreen and wear a hat but we boat so I do have some tan. I am looking to improve pore size. So glad you shared your experience and so very happy for you! Thanks for sharing!

I'm considering the action contour trl? Is this what you did dodger1? If so, tell me more about what you thought. Did it really get rid of your fine lines, crepey skin and improve the overall tone. I have big pores too. How did it help with that? Thk you both!!
