I headed down to Skin Chemistry on Nicholson Street & saw Carmen Redfern. So far she has been doing some conservative botox injections for about a year now & had explained & suggested sculptra for me as I have a long thin face & have experienced a little volume loss over this past year with a lot more anticipated in the future. I was a little 'chicken' as I've never been a fan of needles, but the discomfort was nowhere near as bad as I had anticipated & the numbing cream she used did the trick perfectly. I have a bit of redness & swelling & a modest bruise on one of my cheeks but this should all die down pretty rapidly. Carmen is very down to earth & has a good understanding of the physiology of different faces. She is an experienced theater nurse in addition to doing cosmetic injections & has been trained by a leading dr who treats people affected by the facial wasting associated with hiv/aids here in Melbourne (for which this treatment was first approved). If you are considering this treatment I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carmen & she operates out of a few clinics. Skin Chemistry is a great clinic in general & I'm very lucky to live so close by (they offer many treatments). I will load up some pics soon & will update this as time goes on. I'm going back in 5 days to have some botox in my jaw muscles too to soften my face.
