Restarting a new tray to close off my gap

After months of waiting for my new tray, and extracting yet another tooth out, i finally got my new trays! My dentist removed my bottom 2 attachments (yay) but added 5 more.. When i'm done, she showed me a more complicated way of using my elastics. I had to do 2 V shape, and 1 I shape in my mouth with the elastics. Oh god the horror. This way of placing the elastics, was to make my elastics tighter. And, IT HURTS LIKE HELL. I couldn't sleep last night, i was hurting like mad. I thought i had already graduated from the pain of putting new tray, i should be so used to it..yet this is a whole new level of pain. Gosh, the tightening make me jaw aches, and my teeth hurts when i brushed it, and when i eat, it hurts too..

Well, i hope all these will turn for a better....on a positive note, if all goes accordingly to plan, i will end my invisalign journey in 5 months...! (prays)

Wisdom tooth removal and a week without trays

I'm on my 21/26 tray, nearing to changing my next tray when something horrifying happened - my gum was hurting like mad. At first i thought it might be ulcer, but after a few days of bearing the pain of not being able to eat nor drink properly, i finally conceded and turned to my doctor for help. Turns out that my wisdom tooth had been impacted and...i had to extract it out.

I had a few antibiotics and painkillers from my doctor but it wasn't enough to stop the pain. It needed to be extracted asap, so i contacted my dentist and booked an appointment.

It was D-DAY after 4 days of agony, i was mad nervous. Fast forward to half an hour later, i was actually done with extracting, it was all good (Well except the fact i had to get 2 needles to numb my gum)! I wasn't feeling any pain, my frustrations were gone. Wisdom tooth extraction didn't seemed as scary as i thought. Yay! I was actually told that i will be swelling up and having pain for the next few days but that didn't happen at all. The next day i'm already eating and doing all sorts of things the dentist claims not to do. I even sang karaoke 2 days later! I think wisdom tooth extraction really depends on the depth of your tooth, i'm not sure how to explain but mine was quite small (still growing) and intact when i had it extracted. My sister, on the other hand, had to cut her wisdom tooth into two just to extract it out, and it wasn't intact - she was swelling like mad for the next few days.

I am just so glad everything ended. I haven't been putting on my trays for a week now and it felt so great. But the moment i put my trays back, it felt like the first day i was having my trays - Uncomfortable. I guess i'll just endure a few more trays and i will be finally done with my invisalign journey!

14/26!

Finally I'm halfway there. Hurray! I've basically lost track of time but I think it's about half a year since I started. I'm starting to get really lazy with brushing after every meal and didn't even bother taking out my tray when eating. I know it's not advisable but i just couldn't help it sometimes. I changed the schedule of my trays date myself too as my dentist always give my next appointment time 2-3weeks later. I only get my next trays when I meet my dentist so ya....I had no choice but to add 2-3 days for every tray (it depends). My trays were originally for 10 days but I've changed it back to 14 days. I think as long as I didn't shorten the days my dentist prescribed, it's all good. Honestly, I didn't feel nor see my teeth was moving until I compared it with my first tray. There was a difference!

I went overseas a couple of times with my family (luckily) and street food is always a challenge. I mostly eat with it and enjoy the consequences of something being stuck in my teeth before I actually found a toilet to go to, or probably trying not to speak widely. Luckily most of the times I'm with my family, so it wasn't too embarrassing for me. My sister actually started invisalign a couple of months later than me but she's off to her 15/49th tray, 1 week duration.

Reading back my previous posts, I felt the concerns that I had, were all gone. I wasn't even bothered with the fact that invisalign was in my teeth and always enjoyed my first few days of my trays when it is tightening. I'm a nail biter and with invisalign, i'm growing nice nails :) I'm glad I chose invisalign which is a painless procedure and couldn't wait for the end result. Approximately another half a year to go before I complete my invisalign journey, and I hope nothing goes wrong with it! I'll end my journal for today and till next time when I completed!
