I have tried literally everything for my acne. It comes and goes and I am tired of it coming. I want it gone! So this is my last effort and by what I'm seeing on the site, I am so excited! I got good Chapstick and face cream by burts bees and I'm ready to be dry! Lol I got burts bees intensive night cream for night and cetephil gentle cleanser for the day time. For my lips aquaphor and Vaseline.

I hound that Carmex works well. Vaseline will probably do the same. The Chapstick started feeling real waxy and yucky. Just a choice

I just finished my 2nd round of Accutane on 2/19. I did my first round in 2001 (But it wasn't a full 6 months full dose round) and after I started having kids my face got worse then it was before I did the first round. And as of right now I am totally clear. My skin after I went through the first two months of super dryness looked glowing and was smooth like a babies bottom. Get the best moisturizer you can and always keep a lip pomade with you and you will be okay. I had issues with my triglycerides (Which when I did the first round they were not checking for) -- Which I was told by the doc is normal for some people. I had to eat dark chocolate (70% of higher) everyday and take green tea capsules -- which I enjoyed every bit of it to keep my cholesterol under control. The worst thing for me was keeping the blood test, dropping off the RX and answering the questions to a week minimum with Ipledge. I am sure you will be very excited and happy with the results. Good Luck!

I also used Accutane and loved the results! I had suffered with severe cystic acne from age 12-16 and this medication was a life changer, however by the end I think I had a lip balm/moisturizer hidden in every purse, pocket, glove compartment, drawer...friend's drawer...under rocks :) I had back ups for the back up to the back up in case I lost one! I laugh now, but not then (cracking a smile was very literal). That said, I'd take Accutane again because it dramatically changed my life for the better. Don't forget to moisturize the rest of your body as well. Use a product that contains ceramides (often found in eczema creams) since you might find it dries out other places on your body especially towards the end of your treatment. Hang in there and best of luck!

Two weeks in.
So I'm two weeks in and I did have a slight initial break out. I THINK the initial break out was because I started using a heavy moisturizer at night anticipating dryness when it wasn't needed yet. But it's over. My lips have been dry for about 6-7 days but DR.DANS cortibalm was recommended and I ordered it and it works REALLY well. My cysts are just magically drying up and everything less inflamed. So far so good. Um. I am pretty tired and relaxed I'm guessing from the meds but nothing i can't handle. Everything else is going vdry well.

1 month in. Beginning to see positive results.
I am on almost week 4 and things are all drying up and flattening out a lot. I DID have a rough initial break out that made me worry but it's starting to get better now. Lots of shoulder pain I'm guessing from the meds since I never have had any shoulder pain before. Dry lips. Dry lips. Dry lips. Lol. I tried dr dans cortibalm and it's nice but leaves a while film. aquaphor is nice too but feels too thick after putting it on all day as if it's a super thick lol gloss. Almost like honey on the lips. Too thick. Vaseline has been the best so far. It doesn't penetrate but right now, NOTHING does lol.
Optimistic! =)

actually worsen in the first six weeks or so of taking it. This happened to me. Don't despair and don't stop taking the accutane until you speak with your dermatologist.
