Silicone Butt Injections Removal...My journey

Five months post op and this is pretty much my end result. My wounds have closed thank God. It took awhile for me to update because I am very unhappy with how things look. I’ve been as transparent as possible so there was no reason for me to be ashamed of the way things turned out. From the start I had one wish and that was for my sagging to be fixed, I didn’t care if I had a flat butt, all I wanted was to not be sagging and as you can see I’m still sagging and my scar looks bad, and my butt cheeks are very uneven. The right cheek is hanging lower than the left cheek even though that’s the cheek I got cut on the bottom of. This is not the end for me, I will be getting this fixed. Again this is MY PERSONAL JOURNEY & MY OPINION. Ladies do your due diligence and research, try to talk to as many girls as possible that had surgery performed by the surgeon you are interested in. Don’t believe everything you see on social media...just like everybody else doctors also post their best photos. I’ve learned a lot along this journey and it all has a purpose.

I'm so confused and I will be researching me a doctor
It’s very important that you do your research and choose who you feel is best for you.
OK its just so hard right now the doctors in the states are so expensive
Yes the options are limited
I am so sorry for you. I also went to a very respected and trusted doctor and my experience was not like his reputation at all. I am also searching for the best doctor for me. I am so scared that I will choose the wrong doctor again. You have helped a lot of people by sharing your journey and pictures. I hope you get yourself fixed soon.
Thank you. I’m definitely trying my best to make the right choice for my second surgery. This surgery was just a waste of my time and money. I understand your fears just take your time and try to do as much research. That definitely was my goal to help others not go through what I went through.
Yes, my surgeries were also just a waste of time and money and now I am looking to spend a lot more time and money to fix myself. I also have warned other women about my situation.
Hi did u go out of d country for ur first surgery ? I did too and have to go for a second one and I’m planing to do my next month here ?
I had my surgeries in the US with very respected and highly trained and experienced doctors. I did not have any biopolymer to remove, but I look like I did. I had Bilateral SGAP breast reconstruction after mastectomy. They took tissue from my upper buttocks for my breasts and in the process they totally distorted my buttocks on purpose and could not fix me. The SGAP can be done without causing disfigurement, but my doctors did not care about me even though they told me they did. Apparently, this is very common with my type of surgery, but no one is truthful about this. In fact, the SGAP is marketed as “improving” the buttocks. I have reached out to the breast cancer community, but have not found any support. I have found support in the biopolymer removal community. We are all looking to reconstruct the buttocks.
what are your issues why you have to have a second surgery? Who did you choose for your second surgery? When was your first surgery?
I had my SGAP surgery and then reconstruction surgery a few months later all about a year ago. When they stitched up my wounds, they pulled my gluteal folds up and towards the center so I now have 4 gluteal folds and my buttocks is scrunched. I still have huge dents where they took the flaps and I do not have a transition from lower back to buttocks anymore. I can’t wear normal clothes anymore. It was a nightmare what they did to me. It was totally unnecessary to disfigure my buttocks the way that they did, but they did it anyways. I did not realize how difficult it would be to find a doctor that could fix all those issues. The disfigured gluteal folds is why I have not found a doctor yet to fix me. That is also why I have been looking outside the US even though I want to stay here.
As you can see how bad mine looks without clothes, but I have a really good compression garment so once I put it one you can’t see the deformities under my clothes. Doctors won’t touch me until July because they said my scar tissue needs to soften. So I hope to have my second surgery then.
I went to doctor rios in colombia for removal, 9months ago, edescopic technique and lipo, fast forward to now , the silicone migrated down my lower buttocks and legs and now 9months later im have pains and and tingling down my legs, what an ordeal! Now i think im just gana go ahead and go to dr.gerlani for open and remove all, when u get these strange sysmtoms, wanted to go to dr. Mir but he is very dificult to have surgery w/ him for i have hmo insurance/obama care, and he wont take that,
"Open technique
Ladies my experince from doctor rios was terrible, hes office is full of ladies w/ silicone problems and he will rush you for ur check ups, beacuse he has so much patients he needs to atend to, so ur time w/ him so rushed,
Oh babygirl, I feel your pain. If I could go back I would of never went to tanovic, worst decision of my life. Eventhough I have the implants, it’s an improvement but i still have the scars and a few dents. Every time I look at my butt I want to cry. By the grace of God Ive accepted it, but I hope to go bigger later on..
I have dents and scars in mine too, its normal with these surgeries, be thankful u have that poison out of u for ur futur health is important
Inable to remove silicone they must remove healthy tissues sorounding it, silicone lives in healthy tissues and start to break it down, the dents is always normal for these typa surgery, luckily thers alot of recontruction procedures to fix it
I am thankful, Lord knows, but I just wish I had went to another doctor for the removal. The reason why I keep reiterating myself is due to the unnecessary bbl that ruined my life.
Im sory girl, dont beat urself up over it, alot of doctors dont recomend bbl after thus procedures becuase enabe for the fat to survive ther must be adequite blood supply , but in our case we dont have alot blood supply beacuse of the removal, u did the right decision w/ ur implants ,
Does dr. Tanovic only accept insurance thru an employer like mir or is she more forgiving w/ insurance, after wat i been thru in colombia i will not back ther,
Mind you the doctor gave me cinamon tablets for blood clots , wat a quack
I believe she is Same as Mir
You got cinnamon tablets for blood clots, and I got a vinegar, egg, and sugar mixture stuffed into my open wounds. That’s when I knew it was time for me to leave Colombia and get home to a hospital.
How terrible! Im sure they mean well, but the level of care we have here in the US is far way better, if u truly want insurance to cover it u must get a new job that covers out of network insurance, dr. Mir seems to be the only doctor that has the right method of removal, although he has a more agresive aproach he does take most of the silicone out, i talked to dr. Mirs insurance coordinator, she sugested goin to william sonoma ,saks fith, walmart, starbucks, , but u must work full time to get the medical benifits mir needs, my other choice is dr. g in miami, but they have diferent techniques, he goes in and takes most of it out in one operation, but mir does i believe about 3 surgies in week span to make sure he got the silicone out, he also does mIR in between those surgies to help navicate him, my heart says go to MIR but my situation in regrds to insurance is not leting me
Yes I definitely feel multiple surgeries are necessary. For me the wound vac is a must due to my incision opening. I’m blessed to have the correct insurance so I pray that everything goes as planned.
Hello I just talked to someone about going to Dr. Diaz should I not go through with it?
Like with any doctor you are going to get mixed opinions. That’s why I posted all my pics because I found out that some girls right reviews, their incisions opened up, but they didn’t posted that part. I wanted to be as open as possible to help girls make a sound decision. It is my personal opinion based on my experience that I don’t recommend him as a doctor for removal. Look at what I’m left to deal with. My back is in worse condition than it was before I had the surgery.
Ok thank you for being so transparent.
No problem at all!
Helloo.OMG I'll just brought my ticket to have surgery with Dr Diaz paz in cali.im so frustrating right now
Did you go ? I need more information on him
Thank you for your honesty
No Problem. I’m thankful for the support I’ve received along the way. Just want to help others.
Ccwkrn and do you know with dr go with now???
I would like to go with Dr.Mir. He uses he wound vac and I can’t risk going through what I went through before.
True!,,,,and r u doing th2nd surgery just for bbl or also removal?,,,do you still need a removal?
I still need removal. I had a second MRI done after my surgery with Dr.Diaz and the radiologist told me he only removed 30%. Now I have this huge fluid filled pouch in my lower back that I didn’t have prior to the surgery.
my gosh Girl. I pray you find the right doctors that will help you and God sends you an abundance of financial support to pay for your surgery. ♥️
Thank you. I appreciate it!
Ohh sorry and what dr say about the fluid?,,guess they have to take it out ,maybe is for the black space dr Diaz left?,,best wishes 4 u
The fluid is actually the foreign substance that migrated after my first surgery. It will be removed during my second surgery.

Open wounds progress
These pics are from November. I’m just catching up on my review. I’ve had a home health nurse that comes to my home everyday to pack my wounds with gauze dressing. On my first visit to The wound clinic, my deepest wound, which is the one on the left measured eight inches deep. Each day I see progress which is a blessing. I have been seen by two wound clinics in two different cities, each clinic had a general surgeon and two plastic surgeons give an opinion. The one thing they all said on common was that with the amount of tissue removed at one time a wound vac should have been used to prevent the amount of dead space I was left with and to aid in the healing process. As you can see when you look at my open wounds they look hollow inside. When I asked Dr. Diaz about this he initially offered to fill the space with implants or a fat transfer. I was very clear from the beginning that my main focus was not cosmetic therefore neither of those options appealed to me. I was concerned that future women wouldn’t have this issue and we discussed the use of wound vacs.

thanks for sharing this honest review. this will help women make the better decision
HOPE YOUR WOUNDS HEAL ASAP
Thank you so much!
I am so sorry for what you are going through.
I’m blessed so I can’t complain. Things could always be worse.
What?,,he texted you is not easy to get the vacs,,,,if he performs this kind of surgeries he MUST do something to get the vacs and keep protected his pacients,,keep safe pacients is the priority, many girls are looking for find the right dr ,so he must try to be that one and more ethic , cause on his different websites he offers that, baby get well soon!,,,and tnks for b updating God bless u
Thank you. I definitely feel like the wound vacs should be a priority. I’m not his only patient that has opened up, but a few that I spoke with aren’t on Real Self. My goal was to keep everyone informed on all aspects of the journey so that an informed decision can be made by anyone considering the surgery. I found out the hard way that going out of the country for surgery there aren’t any standards of ethics.
How are you doing?
I’m doing well. Thank yo for asking, each day is a better day.
Is your insurance paying for your medical care in the US? Was it difficult to find doctors to help you after getting surgery abroad?
Yes my insurance is covering my wound care. when I first went to the hospital the doctor on duty was very upset that he had to deal with a issue caused by a surgeon abroad. he said this happens often and they are left to fix the issue. Once I started being seen by the wound care facility they were very nice and focused on the issue which was healing my wounds. They said what happened had already happened and their concern was helping me heal properly.
And your insurance didn’t deny any claims? I am scared that my insurance would look for any reason to deny my claims. My insurance plays a lot of tricks and they are supposed to pay for my reconstruction, but I can’t find a good doctor that will work with my insurance. So if I have to pay for my own reconstruction, it is way cheaper to go out of the country as I can not afford a good doctor in the US. I need advice on how to handle insurance in case complications happen while I am back home. Thank you for posting this information. It is really helpful.
Insurance shouldn’t be a issue once home if you have complications because at that point it’s your health on the line. They paid for a nurse to come to my home every day, there really wasn’t an option. At that point it wasn’t about cosmetic or plastic surgery, I had complications that were outside of that.
What is your opinion on getting a bbl only abroad in Columbia, DR or Mexico? You say that standards are low, what do you mean by that? Does Miami have higher standards? I had a bad experience in the US and so far I have been unsuccessful finding a US doctor with the skills to fix me so that is why I am looking into going abroad. The doctors abroad seem to be much more experienced with butt sculpting which is what I need. Again, thank you for posting about your experience. You are helping women make informed decisions.
Based on the bbl’s I’ve seen done in Columbia they look good. When I said they aren’t held up to standards that US doctors are I’m referencing their ethics. When I started sharing my personal experience about my surgery and what I was informed by several doctors here in the US after my wound opened Dr. Diaz accused me of spreading lies about him because girls were questioning him and his work. He was very rude to me and if he was a US doctor he would not have gotten away with speaking to me like that. There are regulatory boards here that regulate issues and require doctors to follow a certain code of ethics. You probably have a higher chance of a successful surgery because you are looking for reconstruction work to be done. I shared my experience because we are already in a bad situation and I hope to help women make the right choice and to be aware of everything that can happen.
What is this “code of ethics” that US doctors follow? Do US doctors have the highest standards? What chances would one be taking by traveling to Columbia vs traveling somewhere in the US for surgery? Do you think US doctors are safer than foreign doctors? If my reconstruction surgery was so easy, then I would have already had it done. I haven’t been able to find someone else to fix what my original doctor could not finish.
