Hello, so I was debating on whether or not to post here. But I've met a few ladies on here that helped me through this process. About 10 years ago I had, what I was told collegan, can't believe I believed that. My symptoms were on and off depending, pain, burning sensation and I could feel it pushing on me making it hard to walk at times. I had 3 consultations one being Dr. Katzen who did my procedure. I had my MRI and he said it wasn't in the muscle. Dr. Katzen doesn't look at the photos from your MRI since he using ultrasound before going in to see where it is at that very moment. I went with an open procedure. I also had silicone in my upper lip. He took that out at the same time as well. Dr.Katzen and his team have been extremely nice and helpful. I am only 3 days post-op and I'm in pain. I have pain pills that help. It is very uncomfortable for me as my face is extremely swollen from laying on it, I can barely drink fluids or eat. I have been drinking my protein shakes and juven . Getting out and on the bed is by far the hardest part of my days. But you have to get up and get a few steps in. My back is killing me as well. I know that things will get easier. Looking forward to those days. I'm happy I have this out and can't wait to see my results. I go back next week for my first post-op appointment.

Thank you for posting. It is important for patients to realize the process after open silicone removal. Just to be clear, I do review your MRI photos and Radiologist's impressions, but I rely more on my into-operatice ultra-sound. I wish you a speedy recovery. I know you will feel better soon. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen .

What are your thoughts on lipo as a form of removal with bbl at the same time?
March 2, 2021
Not a good idea. Removing contaminated and infected silicone injections by lipo or direct incision spreads the biofilm and bacteria in the surgical wound. Adding fat or a buttock implant to the surgical field is like "adding gasoline to a fire". You are just waiting for an infection. Bottom line, surgeons should NOT be removing silicone and doing BBL at the same time.
