Hello ladies just like many of you, I am here to remove illegal silicone that was injected into my butt about 12yrs ago. At the time I was 23yrs old wanting a more curvy shape and received 5 rounds of injections. As of today I have tingling in my left leg, pain and a little hardness on my butt. Nothing major or life threatening right now, but I want this stuff out of me. I chose Dr. Katzen as my surgeon and will be having my removal done on January 6, 2021! I'm nervous as hell. I have diary of everything that has happened to me over the last 4 months. This has been a JOURNEY!! I have completed my physical and blood work for my clearance and I am HEALTHY....Thank God. Please keep me in your prayers and I'm sure during my down town, I will write about my entire journey from start to finish. Feel free to ask me any questions. The doctor recommends at least 10 days after surgery, but I will be staying about 18 days unless the doctors says otherwise. I'm willing to stay longer if needed.

Oh ok makes sense! Do you have someone that travelled with you or did dr. Katzen assign a nurse to do home care?

Hi hun my insurance has only covered about $5000 so far. Once the surgery is complete the doctor will submit a claim to show it was medically needed for me to have the procedure. Most insurance companies won't pay when they see that the doctor is a "plastic surgeon" . I'm hoping to receive a refund from the insurance company once the surgery is over. I paid using cash and credit cards. Fingers crossed I get most of it back.

Hello, Do you mind sharing how much was the total cost for the surgery, I know it varies from person to person; however, I just want to have an idea of how much the procedure cost. Like you I had injections about 11 years ago, I was lied about the kind of product. I'm starting to get the side effects (back pain, my buttock is purple, pain on my legs), I feel like I'm walking with rocks on my back. I'm in Miami, and I haven't been able to find a doctor down here. I'm going to see a doctor Thursday, he uses a cold laser technique, not too sure about that, but I will go and hear him out. I also reached out to a Colombia doctor, he gave me an estimate for 7K, but I will have to be out of the country for about 3 weeks and I'm scared, I have a toddler. Thank you in advance.

Hi hun thanks for reaching out and reading my story the total cost of my surgery was about 17,900. I have a blog on here which breaks down my cost. My insurance covered the anesthesia and operating room cost. Out of pocket I spent about 12,800. Sorry to hear about your complications. Honestly I wouldn't do laser. Laser will cause the silicone to spread to other parts of the body and may cause complications in the future. The BEST way to remove the silicone is to physically get it cut out. The incisions are across the top and can be covered with a tattoo etc in the future. My incision honestly is very thin and I will show pictures as I continue to heal. A lot of women want to find the "cheapest" doctor and I get we all want to save money but honestly find the "RIGHT" doctor who is board certified. I also have a blog on here that speaks about finding the doctor for you! Please do your research, read reviews, and ask tons of questions. This is a major surgery and you want someone who is qualified to do the surgery. Dr. Katzen and his staff is absolutely amazing. I’ve seen the silicone removal and recon of his they look pretty bad. I’ve reached out to a few patients of his nothing yet.

Hi ladies I’m due to arrive in Cali by noon today. I visit Dr. Katzen tomorrow for my pre op appointment at 3pm and my surgery day is on Wednesday Jan 6th at 7am! I’m super excited. Hello ladies it’s almost here!! I can’t believe It’s10hrs before my surgery...I’m so anxious. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Dr.Katzen and Kiara. When I tell you...they are the best I mean THE BEST!! I literally cried tears of joy when Dr. Katzen walked into the room. He is heaven sent. Please say a prayer for me and I will continue to pray for all of you. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or just to say HI. I hope I can help save 1,2,3,4.......100 lives. Hi hun I'm traveling from the east coast. Flight was 6hrs. Dr. K did a open incision across the top of my butt!!
