A New Beginning

So I finally did it! I finally got the procedure done after many years of suffering and about three years of debating. Whether it was due to financial circumstances, Covid, or other issues, I was unable to do the procedure until one month ago. I chose the best Doctor who is very knowledgeable with this type of procedure, and extremely patient with his clients. The entire staff is great and are always willing to answer any questions or concerns. Dr Katzen said he removed about 95%-98% which was equivalent to 6lbs.
You have to have a strong mindset when going through this procedure because it will take a toll on your regular life. You will temporarily be out of commission and will need a caregiver for the first few weeks but at the end it will be worth it. As far as the pain, I can say it is very minimal. You will have a pain pump in you for the first three days or so which will help, and you are also giving painkillers which I hardly had to use. The pain I had suffered before the operation was much worse than what I experienced afterwards. I would say it’s more of a discomfort feeling. The reason I say you will need to have a strong mindset is not because of you suddenly having a small butt, but because of the changes you will have to go through during the recovery process. You will be laying on your stomach for at least six weeks, not able to sit down which means you have to use the restroom standing up. That is for number one and for number two; however, you manage to do it and learn what works best for you. You will need assistance to get in and out of bed in the beginning, a walker since you will be very weak, have someone help you dress, bring you food, change your dressing, etc. so you will need a dependable caregiver whom you trust and you are not embarrassed with.
I’m not trying to scare anyone but you have to know what you’re getting yourself into before going through this, but trust me it is worth it. I am currently 3 weeks in and I am able to lay on my stomach and on my back with no pain. I can also get in and out of bed on my own. Using the restroom has become somewhat normal now and eating while laying down isn’t too bad. I’m not taking any pain medication at all and I have more energy than I did before. I am also very happy with my results even though I am definitely much smaller.
I feel my new butt goes with my body type since I am thin and once I am able to work out I do plan on focusing on my butt. I don’t plan on getting any reconstruction or implants. I am done with all of that and I am happy just to be healthy again.
Please don’t ask how much it costs since I don’t feel that’s relevant. Everyone is priced different since everyone’s situation is different. I paid all cash but I know some medical insurance covers some of the costs, so just get a quote. It doesn’t hurt and it’s free. Just keep in mind you will also pay for transportation from the surgery center, medication, supplies you’ll need to recover including protein shakes, etc. Everything will add up and it is pricy but again it is worth it.
