Had second surgery finally Done!
I wanted to jump In here and give an update since I hadn’t shared in a long time. After my last post on here a lot happened…. I Was supposed to have the second surgery to remove what was still in my lower back about 6months to year after my first surgery 2018 which is the one I shared details on before on here. Unfortunately I postponed and postponed it and I began having bad symptoms again, this time it wasn’t so much pain but it was autoimmune symptoms, very tired, loss of hair, allergies, headaches, depression, insomnia… you name it! I could not function! After seeing tons of doctors here in states and acing tons of labs without finding any specific issues for my condition except my inflammation markers were positive which was a red flag for autoimmune desease. I spoke with my surgeon Dr Santos n Colombia and he said I had to get surgery as soon as possible, he explained that the silicone in the lower back area usually does cause more autoimmune type symptoms on some people. But if things couldn’t get any worse, all this developed at the same time the COVID pandemic started and all flights to Colombia were cancelled!!! This was in around April 2020. I couldn’t get a flight until October 2020, had surgery 10/30/20 and began the recovery process again! This recovery was easier that the first because Incision wasn’t as big but it was still long and I had to be very careful not to do anything that would open up the stitches. One thing I will say is that my autoimmune symptoms started disappearing from day 1 after surgery!! I began sleeping again!!! Yay! I was more energetic and little by little my body began to balance back! I even got my period back! Yes this even affected my hormones and I had begun Going into “early menopause”!!!!! I’m not saying this fixed menopause but I am saying my body started regulating and I am again having periods and my hair loss has stopped :) I felt improvement in many symptoms right away but the overall health body and mind feeling 100% back to normal has taken about a year. Today Almost 12 months to date of surgery I can say I am feeling amazing!! I have energy! I sleep! The pain is no longer chronic! I do sometimes feel my butt area get a little tingly or itchy but that’s it! We can forget that it’s impossible to remove 100% of this poison so yes there will be little things but my overall health has had an incredible shift for better! Doctor did say that in the lower back area it’s easier to remove the silicone and he was able to get almost all of it in that area but in my buttocks/hip is where I still have some as well as what migrated towards my thighs. That is just reality and I’m ok with it! Now I can move on and live my life again! If there are any questions I can answer for anyone please reach out anytime :)
6 weeks after Surgery
Feeling better and decided to try on some swim suits. Feeling great with progress and results. I tried some bikinis too they worked well and covered my incisions easily.
Sitting is still somewhat uncomfortable but I was able to make the 4 hour flight ok but I took business class for a bigger more comfortable seat, it helped a lot.

34 Days After
This is a pic 34 days after. No drains (they were removed at day 15). No more stitches (removed at day 29). Still have the 2 holes from the drains, Doctor says they will be open for a month to have any extra fluid come out and prevent seromas. Uuughhh I wish they were closed already, but I trust Doc 100% I have had a little fluid come out but not much so I guess it is doing it’s job Lol
He did give me and extra round of antibiotics (5days) once he removed the drains to make sure nothing gets infected, it’s been perfect till now.
As for other updates ....I am sitting easier now even though I’m still somewhat sore and some parts feel a little numb and tight. Doctor says it’s all normal from the butt lift and all the tissue removed. I’ve been carrying around one of the neck travel pillows to sit on putting it round side to the front to put more pressure on the thighs and it’s been helping tons to take pressure of my incision areas :)
Still wearing my compression garment, Doctor says to wear at least 1 to 2 more months. Honestly It makes me feel safer (like my incisions pull less) and less sensitive, so I’ll definitely be wearing it as long as needed. Hope I’m answering questions you guys may have.
I’ll keep updating when I see more progress...
