I was a little skeptical of what could be achieved on someone who had surfed, sailed and fished for 50 years, and probably 40 of those years having never used sunscreen. We use to apply oil to tan in those days..lol.

I had a few friends who had this procedure, and they were happy with the results, so I did some research here and elsewhere and after looking at results achieved by different practitioners in my area, I chose to go to Shino Bay in Ft. Lauderdale. I chose to have a more aggressive treatment, as I am the type of person who likes to get the maximum benefit out of something if I am going to do it.

Dr. Soro & the staff explained things well, and after taking some preop photos and applying numbing cream, which takes effect in minutes, the procedure started. I was told that having the more aggressive treatment entailed having the laser power set higher to penetrate deeper. I can't say that the actual procedure was a painless experience, but there was no pain after it was complete, through to when it was completely healed.

They gave me a gel pack and a care package with assorted goodies. There was definitely no need for any pain medication, though if I remember correctly it was part of my prescription, along with an antibiotic.

The photos document the results, and I am very happy with them. Without a doubt my skin looks better than it did 15 years ago, and I look at least 8 years younger. We will see how things go, but I would probably consider doing it again depending on how well I age. I now take good care of my "investment", by always using sunscreen SPF 30-50 on my face whenever I am going to be outside for more than 15 mins

I would definitely recommend Dr. Soro and Shino Bay... a beautiful establishment and everyone was very attentive and professional. I have seen Dr. Soro again and had some fillers which also produced good results. Will write a separate review when I get some time.

Your skin looks so refreshed and years younger -- congrats! What’s the #1 piece of advice you would give to someone considering this procedure?

It seems that people these days are gradually starting to do more research, but many do not. I would recommend that researching the doctor and the treatment thoroughly. I read many stories, and the majority of unhappy stories seem to come from people who did little research before choosing a doctor. Choose a doctor whose specialty is skin, a dermatologist, and make sure he can show you plenty of evidence of good results.

I consider myself one of the least shallow people on this planet, but I am not going to take chances with my appearance and health.

I had this done also but on my neck, I have had 2 co2 treatments. One light and one pretty heavy. I feel now my skin is really soft and looser.
Was wondering if you felt this affect also?
I am 46 and like you have had years of sun exposure... thanks

Hi, my skin felt very soft weeks after the treatment, and is still much softer than pre-treatment, but rather than looser, it looks tighter than before. I can't say I have ever noticed a looseness, before or after the CO2. I don't know, maybe the neck skin behaves differently, or maybe the practitioner, equipment, or your just your Individual reaction. Probably best to have the doctors in the forum answer that one.

Yep, as a South FL girl presunblock days, I remember baking with oil on my Irish skin! Wow your results were great with just one treatment! Did my first over the summer and notice it continued to improve even after 4 months. Just finished my 2nd round & already excited as I see improvements

I have very fair skin too. I wonder how much better the millennials skin will look when they reach my age?

Nothing comes close to modern equipment and professional expertise. I look at the pics I have 1 & 2 days post treatment, and they look painful, but after the procedure there was no pain, just a feeling of mild sunburn for a few days followed by itchiness as the skin began to peel. I was prescribed pain killers, but I am not one to medicate unnecessarily, so I did not take any of them.

Your skin looks fantastic. I like both of you, Fla girl from Tampa, I am faired skinned irish, or I should say under my tan. I am literally a sun addict, hate giving that up, but I guess that is why I need this procedure at 55. I always felt a tan made me look more attractive, espically hate having to have white legs in shorts...lol especially here in the sunshine state! The doctor here in Lutz says I should only need one treatment. I dont understand why most people are getting more than one. and I would hate to be throwing money away for only one but he says thats all I should need with that equipment, plus cant really afford do do more, he uses the cynosure smartskin. Fractional co2. What type did your doctor use?
