I am a healthy, fit, childless 48 year old woman. Puberty graced me with large breasts then I became overweight during my adult life. I'm 5'4 with a medium frame and at my heaviest hit 200 lbs. I lost and regained significant amounts (30+ lbs) probably 3-4 times in my life. My most dramatic weight loss came after an acute illness. Dropped 50 lbs in 2 months and in my late 30's. My skin had lost the ability to shrink and despite never breast feeding, was left was a couple of pretty droopy breasts. My fitness levels have steadily increased which gave me nice muscle tone but burned up the remaining soft tissue in my torso. My search for the right doc started over a year ago. I looked hard for a couple of months and then my busy schedule put an end to it. This doctor, the time off work, the surgery opening, truly just lined up and happened. Very little effort on my part and I couldn't be happier. Srsly, folks, I went in for the consult and a week later was in surgery. Very unusual all the way around. I knew he was the right doc during the consult. I went with my gut and hopefully asked, "Any chance we could get this done by the end of the year?" They'd just had a cancellation that morning for this week. I booked it, paid for it and off we went. Also, as luck would have it, I'd just had a complete physical done with another doc. Voila, pre-op labs, ready to go.
Why no implant: My research had convinced me that to achieve the lovely shape and upper pole fullness I sought I'd have to get an implant. I considered no implant but thought, "If I'm going to do this better do it right" I did not want larger breasts. I'm a nice C and happy right where I am. I just didn't believe I could get the fullness w/o an implant. Dr. Solomon and I talked extensively about what I could realistically expect with no implant and with. This is why I knew he was the right doc. No BS. The other consult I'd had didn't even mention the possibility of no implant. Middle aged with droopy boobs? I was only offered one option. Dr. Solomon took the time to listen to ME. I'm unusual that I didn't want larger breasts. Been there, done that. Pro's to no impant: half the recovery time. Yes, it's a more extensive and difficult surgery but there is no "muscle work" All soft tissue. Nipple sensation retained. No invading the chest wall and creating a cavity for an implant. No foreign body. No worries about scar tissue forming around implant. Basically, all the worries that come along with an implant are gone. I am fortunate that I had enough volume left that I could get a nice result with no implant. Again, if I'd wanted larger breasts, I would have had to get an implant. The procedure was more expensive but that is because the doc had to spend much more time in the OR than a simple implant placement. It takes a skilled surgeon to get a nice shape without relying on an implant. This is another thing about Dr. Solomon. He truly is a master at doing these. No less than 3 OR nurses came to me while in the surgery center to tell me how lucky I was to have him and what a beautiful job he's done on every patient there but on me, as well. After looking at several pictures and ensuring that I understood fully what I could expect with a lift and no implant, I made the decision to move forward. I'm glad it went so fast cuz I had very little opportunity to get nervous.

This is what I want for me!

I'm so tickled with my new boobies! Tape off this week, one month pics next week.
January 9, 2017
Wow he did a fantastic job. My boob look a lot like your pre surgery and I live Tx and have been looking for a great Dr who can give me what you're got. Thanks your post helped
a lot.
a lot.

My apologies for long response time. I just found your comment. ?? Thank you! I'm so pleased with my outcome and it keeps getting better and better. Dr. Solomon is only doc that rearranges tissue. All other docs just reposition nipple and remove skin. His main office is in Dallas. Thanks for the nice comment. :-)

Thank you for sharing your story. I had the same experience with a few different consultations which doctors would tell me my breasts would never look that full and round without implants. I picked the doctor that take time to talk to me and he believe I do not need implants. I was 32DD. I might have them made a little smaller if I had know how great it feels. Although, overall the surgery might even exceed my expectation but I am still healing. I am sure you must be thrilled too. Your result will be very nice. Happy healing.
January 23, 2017
I checked out your pics and you look great! You've got more volume than I had so even more fullness. I loved your comment about being able to go braless. It's been so long! Lol happy healing to you, too!
July 13, 2017
Soooo happy for you!! I am getting a consult this month. Ideally I would prefer just a lift but we will see! Happy for you girl!
July 13, 2017
Thank you! :-) If you can honestly say that you are happy with your current breast size and won't mind going down just a bit, then you will be happy without an implant. Be sure your surgeon will rearrange existing tissue. Much like an old pillow. Just have to rearrange the stuffing, so to speak. Some docs just do lift and that's it. That won't get the job done. I wish you the best of luck whichever course you go! New girls are the best!

One week post op

The pics are a week and a day post op but I'm writing this at almost 3 weeks. Healing is going very well. This is my first surgery so I had no real idea of what to expect. Surprises: Skin heals at it's own rate. I felt back to normal at day 8 and had a very hard time understanding that this wasn't a pain tolerance thing it was a "be mindful of your incisions" kind of thing. So, even though I felt perfectly capable of doing anything and everything I wanted, I need to be careful. I wasn't as careful as I should have been and caused some bruising. I torqued the incisions pretty well a few times and caused some soreness. I'm fortunate my dumb butt didn't rip anything. God forbid. I was released to all activity at week 3 due to my excellent recovery. My only restriction is no pectoral work (weight lifting, push ups) for the full 4 weeks and no underwire bra for 3 months. I am to start using silicone sheets at week 3 1/2. All tape is to come off at week 3, let 'em breathe for a few days then silicone sheets for optimal healing. I'll update with week 4 pics since all the tape will be off and all the scars will be new.
I cannot say this enough: I am so SO pleased with my result. Even at this stage. The girls are full, nicely shaped, and beat my wildest expectations. Again.. NO IMPLANT. Woo-hoo! Dr. Solomon is a genius.

Looking great!! I'm definitely following your story as I look very similar to your pre-op pics. I am not interested in implants or having large breasts either. Thx for sharing!
January 10, 2017
We seem to be in a definite minority. Lol! I'm very pleased with my C cup. That's where I started and where I stayed. It's just rearranged. Middle of this week the remainder of the tape comes off. More pics next week week as that will be my 1 month mark. See you then!
January 10, 2017
Looking great! I'm following your story because looking at your results that's where I wanna be in size. I'm current a 34DD and I'm really wanting to be down to a 34C or B. What size do you think you are gonna end up being once your fully healed?
January 10, 2017
They told me I wouldn't lose any volume at all. Because this is all my own tissue, it's not going anywhere. I might lose some to aging or weight loss but very little. So, to answer your question, I'll stay the full C I am. Remaining tape comes off in a couple of days then I'll post my one month pics next week. Get a good look at my new nipple size. Thanks for your nice comment
January 11, 2017
OMG. This is exactly what i want! I"m a saggy C now but just want my old full C's back.. and if this can be achieved without implants I would def move forward!! Of course all of the surgeons i've talked to have rec implants to achieve that upper pole fullness but I'm very athletic/fit too and don't really want implants if they're not necessary!! I don't want to be bigger.. just fuller and higher.. Can you tell me your stats before.. height and weight?? Your body and breasts remind me of mine!! Thanks so much and congrats on your new girls!! They look beautiful and perfect for your body!!
January 17, 2017
Happy to share my stats: 5'4 130 lbs. I dont' "work out" but stay pretty active. I'm in a dance troupe, roller skate, tennis, and zumba. Thank you for the great feedback! I got the steri strips off this weekend and let them breathe for a few days. (PS instructions) Now I've got my first application of the silicone sheets, Scar Away. I'm a derp because I was planning on pics tomorrow, which is my 1 month mark. But, now I've got the silicone sheets in place which, judging by the stickiness, will stay for a few days. I'll take them off by this weekend and post pics just a couple of days late. The more reviews I look at the more I'm convinced of Dr. Solomons skill. I could not be more pleased.
January 24, 2017
You look absolutely fantastic!! I am just about to embark on a similar journey to you; lift with no implants. My PS is suggesting his speciality 'stacked flap' lift which distributes to tissue evenly to achieve a good shape and (hopefully) decent upper pole fullness. Although I am older than you at 59 and not as lovely and slim as you; I'm so pleased to have seen your great result and if I get anywhere near as good as yours, I'll be delighted. I have an appointment to see my PS again in February as he insists on 2 consultations, but I'd almost made my decision to go ahead; seeing your result, I'm definitely going ahead. Thank you so much for sharing. I will continue to read your reviews and hope you continue to heal well.
January 27, 2017
Sounds like your guy is going to the same thing mine did: redistribute existing tissue to achieve the good shape. I'm so glad I did. They aren't "the perfect" breast with full upper pole volume but, you know what? I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm 48, for Pete's sake. I love the natural, age appropriate look.
I'm so glad my pics have given you some reassurance. I don't regret a second, really. Your PS seems to be playing things safely which has to be tough if you are ready to move. However, this way you'll be certain. Also, what a fun way to build anticipation, right? ;-)
Here's something I didn't count on. I don't see the girls much. All my tape is off but I'm using Scar Away (silicone sheets) for maximum healing and best result with scar appearance. The PS recommended them and all my research indicated this was a good thing. Because the sheets tend to come off if I don't keep some sort of bra on I only see them when I shower. Then back under cover they go. It's like boob visitation. lol! "Till tomorrow, girls!" I want to get to know them, ya know? Warning: they will feel like strangers for the first month. I kept telling my friends, "It's like someone left their pretty boobs in my shirt. I keep waiting for them to show up and ask for them back" However, I've got the rest of my life to make friends. My PS says this will last that long, too. Yay!
Thank you for the lovely message and keep me posted! You're going to love it!

Thank you so much for your reply. I will start my own review as soon as I've been to my 2nd consultation in a couple of weeks. I hope I can then offer the same reassurance and inspiration to someone else that you have given to me. Thank you so much. Keep on healing well and keep us updated on your progress.
January 30, 2017
I'll be watching and waiting. Go, YOU! It's a wonderful feeling to do something like this for ourselves, isn't it? :-) See you and your lovely new ladies SOON.
February 4, 2017
Such amazing result in every way! I love the shape! You don't look 49. I am jealous. I love my result too but I wish I communicate better with my PS about my goal breasts. I think if he reduce the size a bit, the outcome will be even better, shape and contour wise. My right is also bigger than left as we weren't clear on result. Yours are perfect!
February 15, 2017
Thank you for the awesome compliment(s)! I think you hit the nail on the head with "if he will reduce the size a bit" The American ideal is a large, high breast with small nipples. Okay, fine. My point is that not every woman is fixated on that ideal. Some of us are perfectly okay with a smaller, more natural breast. I was fortunate to find a PS that was also not fixated on the stereotype. Until I met him I'd allowed the other docs to convince me I had to have the implant. Good luck and keep me posted!

Like most love affairs the honeymoon period has come to an end and I'm able to see my new boobies with clear eyes. I still love them. Really. With all swelling gone as well as some settling of the breast tissue I lost some volume and a bit of the upper pole fullness an implant would have given me. However, I still love them. They are not the stereotypical large, full breast. And that's just fine. They are mine, proportionate, age appropriate, and lovely.
Pro's:
No implant and all the trouble that goes along with having an implant. Fast healing, no foreign body, much less invasive surgery.
Natural look and feel
All my tissue.
Going braless!! Omg, the freedom. I can't wait for summer and tank tops and sun dresses and a new bikini!
Cons:
Lack fullness and upper pole fullness
Loss of size. I'm went from a full C to a full B.
My scars would probably heal more quickly and nicely if I had stuck to using the Scar Away strips. However, to keep them in place while you sleep that means you have to keep them covered. I slept in a light sports bra. That results in the girls being covered 24 hours a day. After being in a compression bra and the awful no underwire bra for so long I wasn't up to it. I loved the freedom and feel of sleeping with them free too much. They don't bother me mostly because, and this is so silly, I am looking down at my breasts usually, not in the mirror, so I don't really see them that much. I went to an all naked spa a couple of week ago for the girls first public outing. So nice to lean over and not feel like I'm ready to be milked or pull it out from an armpit. Same for sleeping! I can lie on my back and no slide down the side. It's a hundred little things.
Nipples still dead. Left is beginning to come back but the sensation is a feeling of being touched not the "hubba hubba" feeling I miss so much. I call them my turbo buttons for a reason. I hope to regain full sensation. *fingers crossed* PS said a year. Tick, tock! It's interesting... they both respond to touch and become erect but I can't feel it. Odd to watch and not have the sensation. Having small, perky nipples is another fantasy fulfilled. I was self conscious of my large nipples for my entire adult life.
Lymph nodes. No one told me this might happen. About a month ago the lymph nodes in both axilla (armpits) enlarged and got tender and sore as hell. No bueno and it scared the crap out of me. They responded very well to warm compresses but popped back up a couple of weeks later but not as bad. I happened to be in for my annual well woman and my gyne said it was all part of the healing process and that yes, it was lymphatics building new routes. If you look at a diagram of the lymphatic system you will see that this surgery cuts through several. Anyway, heads up. My PS told me at my 3 month follow up that it would take a year and a half to heal fully. !! I didn't really believe him. I do now.

Thank you for sharing! My recasts look so much like your before it's scary! If you don't mind, could you repost at 6 months? I am scheduled for June 8thby the way!

April 18, 2017
It'll be here before you know it! Congratulations! I'll be sure to post 6 month pics. Will be close to end of June. Hope my scars will be fully faded by then. We'll see. So excited for you! :-D Yayyyy!
April 19, 2017
Hi, great update. Thanks for sharing. I had BL about the same week as you and I'm a similar age. You've had a tougher run than me with your lymph nodes, nipples but you've got a great result there. I've got an old crappy phone but I must post some before and afters so you can get some feedback from someone at the same stage as you. It really helps, so thanks again for the update (and I'll put some photos up too!)
April 19, 2017
Oh, yes please! I'm very curious about others results and your journey. How are your scars healing? And do you have sensation? Oh, I'll be so jealous! ;-) Thanks for the message and I'll be watching for some pics.
April 19, 2017
Hi again, my scars are smooth (not raised). They are about the same redness as yours. Both nipples are down on sensation but respond to touch and weather. You described it perfectly - the erotic buzz is much less. My PS said that the sensation would most likely be reduced by 30%. I think he is about right so far (lefty is worse). We will have to wait the full 12 months to see if our nerves make new pathways. Fingers crossed.
You have much better height than me. Over the last month I've noticed a definite drop in the girls. I'm still very happy though, it's nice to look good in all tops without having to hoist my boobs up to a reasonable spot.
I agree with you about upperpole fullness but I think implants would have brought there own set of problems and remember we're old now !!
Keep enjoying them, cheers

Could you possibly post some new pics, including how they look with bra/bathing suit, etc.?

It's great reading your journey through this. I wonder if mine will do similar things. I'm at almost 4 weeks. Im similar sized too (was between C/D and not sure if I'm a B or C right now). You look great!
