This site has been an amazing resource all the way from my initial consultation through what is now my fourth week post op. I'm hoping my review can help someone who may be considering this surgery. I've always hated my large breasts they snuck up on me in 5th Grade I have always been very self conscious of my chest. I've always been known as the girl with big boobs in school and amongst my friends and I've tried to hide them by dressing modestly and wearing several bras at once. I didn't seriously start considering the surgery until this past summer when I consulted with several different surgeons. I had a feeling my insurance would not cover the procedure because my reduction was not that large and I just recently was able to pay for it out of pocket. I chose Dr James Chappell in Severna Park Maryland over several other surgeons because of the time he spent with me during my initial consultation and how thorough he was in explaining the procedure and understanding and managing my expectations. I scheduled my surgery for exactly one month after my initial consultation.

Fast forward one month to day of surgery: I was not nervous at all, just very excited! This surgery took approximately 3 hours, Dr Chappell removed 350 grams from my right breast and 500 grams from my left breast, and I woke up from anesthesia crying for no reason! I was prescribed dilaudid for pain management and can honestly say that I felt very very little pain throughout the entire healing process. My mom stayed with me for 4 days after surgery although I really only NEEDED her for a day or two.

I return to work after 10 days - I am a dentist so I don't do a lot of heavy lifting but I do move my arms a lot. I felt more than ready to go back and aside from feeling a little tired and sore, I felt that it was very doable.

As of tomorrow I will be 4 weeks post op - I'm feeling really great although I still sometimes have a little soreness. I am still a little bit numb on my sides where the liposuction was done and the bottom half of my breasts are a little numb as well. My nipples are hypersensitive but I'll take that over them being them any day! I'm wearing a bra 24/7 bill - my surgeon told me I could sleep without one but I don't feel like I'm ready for that yet. Only feel comfortable sleeping on my back but hopefully that will change soon soon.

Overall, for anyone considering this surgery, trust me when I say it is completely life changing! I have more self confidence now than I ever have in my entire life and I feel comfortable in my own skin - this is something I probably couldn't honestly say before the surgery. I am so thankful to Dr Chappell and his staff for their amazing work!

Thank you so much for your kind words. My staff and I work really hard to make people extremely satisfied. It is the whole reason I am in practice. Thanks again.

Your breast look great. I think your size was similar to mine and could only hope to look as good after. I am a little heavier around the middle than your pictures but wear a 36DDD or 38DD with my right boob the bigger one of the two. I had my surgery yesterday and have little pain but not sleeping well. I was a side/stomach sleepee so this is only getting me an hour or so of sleep at a time.

Take some pain meds right before bed. I'll be honest, I'm six weeks post op and just recently felt comfortable sleeping on my side/stomach. It'll get better! Hang in there!

I "wrote" this review via my voice recognition on my phone hence the terrible grammar and random words that don't make sense!

LOL, you didn't do so bad.  I could tell you about some of my voice conversations that came out really bad.
