2 Years Post Op (in a week)

Figured I'd add an update and pictures for 2 years post op.

I still love my results. I do kinda miss the way it looked early post op and swollen, as weird as that sounds. I do think the tip of my nose appears to stick out a little bit more after the swelling went down but all in all it's an amazing result. I can breathe through my nose but I still find activities like walking I revert to breathing through my mouth. It's definitely better than it was before, but not quite 100%. I do use saline spray and Flonase to try keep my nose as clear as possible.

I cannot get over how easy Dr Corrado made everything. Especially my recovery, no vomiting after surgery, no bruising, no complications. I am so much happier since having this done, like a dark cloud got lifted off of me. If you are on the edge trying to decide if you want this surgery I would 100% say go for it. Be sure to find the right surgeon. And if you are considering mine, Anthony is amazing!

Adding some comparison pictures for 1 month post op. Aaand since I need more characters to post this..

When you go for a rhinoplasty consult one of the things you're told is that they will make an improvement to your nose, they can give you a cute nose, but they cannot give you someone else's nose! It is important to have realistic expectations as well as a positive attitude :) Oh and if they do make you those promises - you might be in for a rough experience.

Will probably try update again at 2 or 3 months post op...

Weeks 2 + 3 Recovery & Pictures ?

So I can’t really think of much to say about the past two weeks, once I pulled my tape off my nose I found it hard to remind myself that I recently had surgery. The pressure feeling in my nose went away (and returns pretty much only when I bend over... like I shouldn’t... fishing for my phone charger on the floor while in bed). There were moments when I would notice someone looking at me from a side profile and I’d have that horrible feeling fall over me only to remind myself that my nose now looks cute from that angle! I only wore makeup for a couple days here and there and never on my nose (I did however gently cleanse and moisturize it). I was and am still sleeping elevated. Given the degree of my deviation my surgeon doesn’t want me returning to my usual side sleeping as there’s a risk of me pushing my nose against the pillow (though honestly even at an incline I find myself waking up on my back, my side, the other side… thankfully my nose hasn’t been touching any pillows) I think this will be the case for the next couple months. Oh, and my upper lip is back to being fully functional :).

I had my 3 week post op follow up on Friday, got told I can stop with the antibiotic cream but to continue with saline rinses (yippeeee that ointment would melt and begin to look like snot hanging out my nose if I didn’t remember to wipe it lmao). Dr Corrado and Brittney kindly offered to do a sneaky before/after for me <3 buuuuut I had other plans, a LOT of questions and despite running a little late he answered every one of them without making me feel rushed. I learned a lot, about what was done to my nose during surgery (which was super interesting and I’m very happy with every detail he disclosed down to the sutures used) and general stuff like columella numbness, exercise, resuming vitamins, using skin care products on my nose etc. He was brilliant, and I know I used up more than my allocated time slot.

Which leads me to now, my next (and last) appointment is the 3 month post operative appointment where I will have my “after” pictures taken. Which is really 2 months away now. My nose is still a little swollen, a little more on one side than the other. I LOVE my side profile views. My ¾ views I like one more than the other, I hoping it’s a swelling thing. My breathing is still fabulous despite the fact that one nostril is always a little blocked (I think it’s common post op and to top it off I have a severe dust mite allergy that surely doesn’t help). The more time passes the more I get used to the changes in my face and the happier I feel. I’m so happy I finally got to go through with this, amazed with how painless and easy recovery has been, so happy with the surgeon I chose, and so hoping I don’t run into any problems in my healing.
