Ruined my life and left me in debt

Dr.Berens ruined my life and left me debt. I am 23(m).

I came into Dr. Berens office with chronic difficulty breathing due to a severely deviated septum caused by an injury. I wanted a septoplasty(I am not a medical professional). After completing a CT scan I was informed by Dr.Berens that due to the severity of my septum deviation in my tip it would be impossible to just do septoplasty, and said that I needed to do a mix of rhinoseptoplasty to rebuild the tip after straightening the septum. Now I was aware of possible side effects and consequences of the procedure from Dr. Berens and my own research. The word rhinoplasty scared me and I made it clear during every visit that I am not doing this procedure for cosmetic purposes and am NOT interested in changing my nose appearance. Dr.Berens has reassured me every time stating that the nose shape and appereance will stay the same and that it might get "a little' wider, no plans on changing the structure or the aesthetic of my nose were made. The results are below. She has completely mutilated my nose. It didn't just get wider. I now have a fully retracted columella that looks like it's been chopped off. The graft that is place as my collumella is almost half an inch wide completely out of proportion about twice as wide as it was prior to surgery. My nose is longer, I have a huge bulbous tip that is also droopy. My nostrils are super uneven which I don't even mind as much compare to the comical round shape to them. Now as I've mentioned I was aware of possible side effects such as the nose getting wider but it didn't just get wider I just got a sloppy nose make over for no reason which why I felt the need to share this DO NOT TRUST THEIR WORD and look at their past patients. Not to mention besides completely mutilating my nose SHE HAD ALSO BILLED PART OF THIS PROCEDURE AS COSMETIC LEAVING ME 10000$ IN DEBT which her hospital The Kemp Surgery Center(where I had this done) has sent to collections. She claimed that she got prior authorization from Aetna for the cosmetic codes and that they approved it. After the procedure Was complete and I was provided the bill Aetna has informed me that Dr.Berens did not request authorization for the COSMETIC part of the surgery im not sure if she lied or if she just didn't care as AETNA WILL NOT PROVIDE ME THE RECORDED phone calls. Super unprofessional and careless to say the least. Do what you will with this information and BE CAUTIOUS WHEN CHOOSING YOUR DOCTOR. I would avoid this provider at all costs she has ruined my life for the foreseeable future.
