Wonderful Surgery Experience

I am so grateful that a local ENT doctor referred me to Dr. Patel for my septorhinoplasty. After only a few minutes of observation and hearing my story, Dr. Patel was able to tell me exactly why I have the breathing issues I have and what improvements he could make with my breathing and chronic sinus and allergy problems. He was very honest about the process and about which surgical procedures would provide maximum benefit with minimal invasiveness. For me, a multi-faceted approach fixed the majority of my breathing problems - a straightened deviated septum, a reduction of enlarged turbinates, the strengthening of a collapsed nostril wall, and a slight enlargement of the bridge of the nose to increase air flow. The most assuring thing about Dr. Patel is that he listens. He listens to why you are there. He listens to what problems you are having, what results you want, what questions you have. He then devises a plan with you for your treatment and walks with you through every step. It is obvious that he cares about people and helping to improve their lives. His patients are essentially walking billboards of his work, and I am proud to have been a patient of his and recommend him to anyone who is considering nose surgery to improve breathing. As Dr. Patel says, most people end up in his office after trying several other avenues that haven't worked. I was ready for surgery, and he made me feel that surgery was indeed my best option for relief from constant drainage, stuffiness, sneezing attacks, and overall breathing misery. His bedside manner invokes a sense of calm before surgery and throughout the recovery process. His 24/7 availability shows his genuine care for your post-OP situation. He gives out his cell phone number after surgery, so if you have any questions or issues, he and his team are right there to help. My septorhinoplasty was four months ago. I am right on track with the healing process and can already feel the difference in my clarity of breathing in both nostrils, reduction of mucous, and frequency of sneezing attacks. I know that with more time I will continue to see improvement and enjoy a much higher quality of life. I avoid physical pain as much as possible, so voluntary surgery is not something I usually consider or take lightly. However, in this case, I was so miserable and congested all the time that I was willing to undergo a surgical procedure. The pain of living that way for the rest of my life seemed worse than a few weeks of discomfort. And I was right. A few months after surgery, I already know it was worth it.
