V-line Surgery at Regen Plastic Surgery

ORIGINAL POST

I am going to share my plastic surgery experience...

WORTH IT
I am going to share my plastic surgery experience on this site however since I got multiple procedures completed from different surgeons, however this review will be on my most recent procedure for my jaw performed by Dr. Myung June Oh. The total list of procedures I received at Regen are in order, Liposuction -> rhinoplasty -> mammoplasty -> square jaw (v-line) + zygoma reduction (cheekbone reduction). I got my lipo and mammoplasty done by Dr. Woo Jung Kim and my square jaw procedure and rhinoplasty done by Dr. Myung June Oh.
I am a russian-born currently living in the U.S. I have always been self-conscious about my face, particularly my jawline. I have a sister who got her genes from the better side. My smile wasn't the most attractive in my eyes so I always refrained from smiling too much. I thought my face looked 10 yrs older than I am everytime I smiled. I started visiting plastic surgery clinics in my local area and received a few consultations from surgeons. I didn't know what to think since I've never had any work done at the time so I shared my experiences on online forums and there I found out those clinics were very 'sub-par' compared to other places after speaking to those far more familiar with cosmetic surgery. Since I had a decent amount of money set aside for my visual transformation I started to look for places outside of my state, particularly in California. A friend of mine who is a Korean-American told me to check out some forum called soompi where a lot of information about plastic surgery clinics in LA and in Korea were shared. This was back in feb 2016 I think. After reading and asking a few questions here and there and receiving numerous consultations online I went to Korea in June 2016. I visited 3 hospitals, ID, Regen and JK. I actually had 2 more to visit but i made my decision after visiting Regen.
The plastic surgery scene is huge in Seoul. It seems all the 'top' places are located in Gangam which is like the 'beverly hills' of Seoul. Some of them are in buildings that are 2-3 floors but the big ones were in very large buildings with 10+ floors each.
Out of the 3 consultations I went to, Regen was the last one and the place I ultimately decided on. There were many factors for this but my consultation experience and conversations with other patients while I was waiting was the biggest factor. I have to say though I quite humbled when i came to Korea. I'm not one of those people who watch Korean drama or have experience with culture here so I was very uninformed and I thought it was a 3rd world country at first. The plastic surgery clinics are more like hospitals in the states with super fancy lobbies and very very top notch professionalism in their staff.
So here is a bit of info before I start with my experience at regen. I did their online consultation through their website. They have an english site and it was very easy to navigate. The only thing was I had to install a messenger app to communication which I didn't mind since they probably have that in place for spam or non-serious inquiries. I sent a few pics and wrote in detail what my personal opinions/issues were on my face and other things and I was given a quote. I can't remember fully what the quote amount was but it was actually more than what I was told when I arrived but it was expected since there was more work that was needed to be done.
I went to Regen plastic surgery which was nearby a super huge bookstore in Gangnam. It was in a large office building that was easy to find and they already had a bunch of posters of patients starting from the moment you enter the building. I met up with a nice young korean woman on one of the floors who directed me to the waiting lobby. They had a few foreigners that spoke english sitting as well so I chatted up with them while waiting. When the Dr. was ready, I went to his office and met Dr. Oh. It actually felt quite weird meeting him at first since I watched a lot of his videos and saw his pictures on the internet. I felt like I already knew him but he didn't know me, I don't know. It felt weird. But when he said hello to me, his english accent was like he had lived in the states, not quite perfect but definitely familiar. We spoke about my pictures and what about my face I didn't like. He explained everything from which procedures I needed or which ones he would suggest and the effects it would give along with answering all my questions. I'd like to add that my other consultations felt like I was being jammed in a doctors schedule with a time limit of 5-10 minutes. At regen, it felt like he was waiting for me. I don't know, but I definitely felt this place gave its patience more attention than the other places I've went to and it had a lasting impression on me. My consultation for liposuction and mammoplasty with Dr. Woo Jung Kim was also very sincere and genuine giving me every information I asked for in detail.
The process was very simple and professional. I arranged the date and was given the timeline for surgery and recovery. The day before the surgery, I went through an extensive check-up (blood, urine, etc). The check-up took a little over 30 minutes. For the surgery, the time it took before going under to when I woke up was around 3 hours. I remember going to the operating table and seeing the anesthesiologist and Dr. Oh before I went under. I woke up and was in the recovery room with no memory of the actual surgery and my face was bandaged up around my jaw. As you can see in my photo my face was pretty swollen but I noticed it wasn't as swollen as some of the pics I've seen or the other people there. I guess the swelling varies from person to person.
The doctor and staff gave me a briefing and how I should take care of myself (aside from the care they give me). I was told to not smoke or eat spicy foods or hard foods and stick with soft soups. I also was told to put an ice pack on my face from time to time to reduce the swelling. The staff there was very kind and would do whatever I asked like take pictures of me for me or visit the convenience store for a certain type of juice I wanted. I left the hospital the same day and visited a few more times after that since I was going to have other procedures done as well. I have to admit though the pain was great, like the most pain I've ever felt on my face. At the time it was hell but now that I look back it was absolutely worth it. My jawline looks amazing and some of my friends are even considering similar procedures. My recovery took a total of 5 months where I felt no pain eating or smiling. I have had other procedures done at Regen with Dr. Woo Jung Kim who was also great and I will write about them in another review but Dr. Oh was amazing. Thank you. If anyone decides to get ANY work on their jaw, please go to South Korea, they are the absolute best at it. If you don't care about money and only the results, find Dr. Oh.

I would really like to have an idea of approximately what this cost. Also when you left the hospital, and you stayed for other procedures, how long many days did you go back. Say a person is going to Seoul just for the jaw procedure, how long should they have to stay there after the procedure. Also from you consultation until your jaw procedure, how long did you have to wait. Thanks for anything you can share.
The price for the v-line and zygoma reduction was a little over 10 million won. I got the other procedures done before my jaw. I went back to Seoul in June. I stayed about 3 weeks for my jaw procedure but Regen schedules their after surgery appointments for the 3rd day, the 7th day, and 14th day. On the 7th day I got a CT scan and on the 14th day they removed my stitches. I think you can get the jaw surgery done in 14 days total. I made my first consultation online for free and I didn't make a commitment before coming to Seoul because I visited many a few hospitals so there was a huge chance I would have had to wait. I was however lucky and was able to schedule my surgery the very next day after my in-person consultation so I paid the reservation fee then. If you want to get the procedure done right away you will have to make an initial deposit ( i believe its 10%?) to secure a time slot.
I have just written you a DM but got my answers here, thank you so much for this post it really inspired me! Can i ask if on the week 3 swelling was good enough for strangers not to notice? I am conscious how much time of work i would need to take. Also would be great to hear about your other surgery experiences
Business tactic. Place deposit right away to get a slot. Trust me...they have a slot.
Did you ask to get zygoma reduction or did they recommend that to you?
I wanted the Zygoma. I was considering that or V-line surgery but in the end I decided to get both of the procedures.
I wanted both.
I like your results
How is your face evolving?
Any sagging skin or double chin?
I didn't have any sagging or double chin. Before the surgery, Dr. Oh specifically said he would use a different surgery technique to minimize any sagging or double chin. Honestly I was surprised about what he said at the time since no other surgeon said it during consultation.
do you have plates and screws etc. in your chin? it looks amazing btw. I’m considering getting it down myself but the thought of having hardware in my chin for the rest of my life freaks me out lol
Hi. There are no plates or screws in my chin :)
Do you have an email to speak with them?
You can email them here infoglobal@regengroup.co.kr
let's see your Ct scAn. you say you had cheekbone reduction but it looks like you only had jaw
I don't have a it... I actually can request it from the hospital, but too lazy for that sorry
uh huh
For those who you read this review..make sure to request to see patient ct scans. This review sounds fishy to me. Sometimes patient claim they had cheekbone reduction but really didn't and only jaw work or vice versa. Allegedly some of these girls are "models" for the hospital and have a contract with them. Notice how regen patient all have a review on realself...it's sounds like a promotion to me.
I don’t think clinics provide ct shoots to their patients, as far as I know they stay with the surgeon and I’m in no need of them unless such people like you claim in “disinformation”. I can reach my ex-assistant and ask to send it to me but why should I bother myself? In my case it’s very clear that I proceeded both zygoma and v-line and the only point in my contract signed with REGEN regarding “modeling” was the agreement to share my pics on their website and socials for some discount and why would I reject such an offer? I don’t care about other people reasons sharing experience here, my only initiative was to help someone to chose the right place and surgeon. I had rhino before Dr.Oh and proceeded it in a mid-rated hospital and got relevant result.
