WORTH IT
Hi! I don’t wanna write a poem and go too deep into unnecessary details, describe every step how and why and what or other similar stuff. I’m just gonna share most important part of my experience and some tips to escape possible problems.
I got my nose job and facial contouring done in Korea. The plastic surgery I went to was Banobagi. My surgeons were Dr.Lee and Dr.Oh. Obviously, I don’t remember anything related to the operation itself as I was under sleep anesthesia, but I do remember the time when I woke up. The dizziness like during an eerie hangover, terrible vomiting and pain. Hopefully it was gone the next day. During the first three or four days my face was swollen a lot and edemas under eyes made me look like panda but gradually dark circles turned into a bit noticeable yellow spots and a week after I could already notice changes on my face. During the first week I got some post-op treatments to get rid of swelling faster and it magically helped. Two weeks after I came back to the clinic for a progress management. I got also several skin care procedures done there and the result was visible just right after. After skin care procedures the nurse removed stitches and I was directed to make new CT shoots and by the time I reached the doctor’s office he already got them. Dr.Oh showed me both before and after CTs and explained details and after clarifying my current situation we got a chat about my complaints or problems and his recommendations on the further aftercare at home. I still had to wear a bandage four hours a day, eat only soft food and sleep mostly on my back.
When I arrived back home it wasn’t difficult for me to follow the diet. I ate mostly boiled eggs and tofu, yogurts and porridge, if I wanted some meat I had to cook it for several hours or simply processed it through blender. Day by day I’ve been noticing improvements, the swelling from my nose was almost gone, even though the tip was still senseless, and facial lines became more defined. By the fourth week I started to exercise my mouth and little by little the pain followed by opening faded away. One month later I added to my ration some boiled sausages, bread, tomatoes and other less solid products. Swelling still was a bit obvious in the morning and almost gone by the end of the day. Nose became more natural and the scar wasn’t noticeable only a light-pink strip on columella at a certain angle.
After about 6 weeks I could freely open my mouth as wide as I did it before the surgery. I could easily eat banana without cutting into several small pieces and drink from the glass without using a straw. The speed recovery of cheekbones was slower that of the nose though and swelling kept on my face every morning but by noon there was no sign of proceeded surgeries. The tip of the nose became softer, swelling was almost gone and it wasn’t potato-shaped. By the end of the second month I ate a steak as a reward for the proceeded job and chewing more solid food was no longer painful, but mouth didn’t open enough to yawn. I wasn’t allowed to work out for 3 months but tried to do simple exercises at home.
The third month I treated myself with a normal size burger, iced coke and potato chips. If during previous two months breathing ability wasn’t stable and one of nose drills was blocked most of the time, on 11 week I’ve noticed that breathing became normal again. I decided to start jogging every morning and it helped to fight with morning swelling. During the fourth month I returned to my common running regime and added two days of swimming. By that time, I could already eat and drink whatever I wanted. The full recovery took me roughly 5 months, a bit less that I was told. I think it worth to be in pain and discomfort for some time and enjoy perfect results the rest of your life. I’m very thankful to Banobagi, Dr.Lee and Dr.Oh for making me confident like never before and feeling proud of myself for daring, proceeding and bearing everything.
Some main points for those, who’s gonna proceed similar operation:
- Buy a pillow that holds your head higher than your heart
- Always rinse your mouth, even after drinking juice. It prevents infections and makes the felling inside your mouth more comfortable
- Eat a lot of delicious food. It stimulates your muscles and makes your mouth more active.

I think I've been wearing my chin up band wrong for 2 months now. I didn't put it over my chin just under it. How long did you wear yours for and his often?
the first few days I didn’t take it off and during the first 3 weeks I wore it 30min every 4h. later I moved to 4h a day schedule and kept it for about 3 months
Wow I messed up then hope I will still get good results. If not then it will be my fault. I am so disappointed in myself now. :-(
Hi Alex - this transformation looks awesome! Thank you so much or sharing.
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing, your result looks amazing!
Do you mind me asking which month did you have the surgery?
