I Reduced Zygoma to Have More Elegant Face

I wanted to change the shape of my face for long time. I think it looked like an inverted triangle: broad cheekbones and narrow chin and I wanted oval face. I did fillers before into cheeks to make face look prettier but I think correction with fillers increased volume of this area and I needed to reduce cheeks to make my face look more elegant.
The operation helped me to form a beautiful and slim oval face. I didn’t have plastic surgery before and it was my first experience. I think it’s very important to prepare for the plastic surgery and find a very qualified and experienced doctor. I knew about Regen and Dr.Oh from my friends and famous show Let Me In and when I decided to have zygoma reduction, I already knew where to go.
In April I went to Regen for my first consultation. When I met Dr.Oh he did detailed examination and asked many questions. He said sometimes patients don’t know what they want or want a wrong operation, that’s why consultation with a doctor is very important. He took measurements of my face and made a 3D computer model to show me results. I was very nervous because the operation is very serious and I was afraid to do it. A month after I came back for medical check and the preparation for the operation took me 10 days.
In June 16 I came for surgery and met Dr.Oh. He said that he will make a 4cm cut on my gum, then he will cut a bone and fix it with titanium plate and that I will not have scars on my face. The operation was 1 hour under general anesthesia, I woke up in my recovery room and I stayed in the clinic 1 day. I felt terrible pain and couldn’t eat the first day after operation. I ate only soups for 2 weeks and could eat normal food only after 1 month. After surgery on the the 7th day I took a ct xray and was able to see the results more clearly. Dr. Oh compared my cheekbones before after images and told about certain things regarding my recovery for the next month. After 7 days my cheekbones were pressed to make sure the position was accurate and it was quite painful. I couldnt open my mouth fully however i did a few mouth opening exercises and rinsed reguarly to speed up recovery.
Rehabilitation was very difficult, I took medicine and wash my mouth with special liquids. My face was very swollen and edemas left only after 2 weeks. 1 week after the operation I came back to the clinic for treatment and progress management. The nurse told me to avoid strong stress, physical activities, don’t go to the swimming pool, sauna and if I follow all recommendations I can return to my usual life style very soon.
The final result I could see only 6 months after when swelling was totally gone. If you compare my one month after to my before the swelling was minimal and I was able to open my mouth comfortably and after 2-4 months everything seemed pretty normal. I think my rehabilitation was not very difficult. I followed all recommendations and took special medicine. 6 months after I visit Regen every week for treatments and progress management the whole month. I think when I had wide cheekbones I looked angry and cruel and now I look more elegant with correct face lines.
