It’s been almost 6 months since I got the procedure done on my face. As a perfectionist, I’m always striving to improve myself. I always found my face asymmetric and felt that my chin didn’t have enough volume. My sister has had some work done as well and after I saw a great improvement in her looks, it sparked a big interest in me. I did deep and detailed research in terms of everything- best surgeons, best service, best equipped clinics and best prices of course. I’ve read a lot about Korean clinics and that Seoul is the capital for plastic surgery industry. I searched reviews and comments of real people in Reddit and Purse Forums and made a list of best clinics in Seoul. I decided to chat with them online, every clinic responded to me and most were very polite and friendly, but the thing that I loved about Regen is that the consultation was very detailed, she told me the approximate cost of the operation and accommodation, even suggested me the hotel near by the clinic and how much in total I’ll spend on everything (including food, flights, in-city transportation). Unfortunately Regen did not have any reviews at that time on realself, which I used for researching a lot of the procedures I wanted. I still decided to go with Regen as they had a lot of positive reviews on other sites.
When I arrived Seoul, I went to Regen after booking my room and met with Dr. Myung June Oh. Initially I wanted to improve the symmetry of my face with a jaw reduction, as I believed that was the true problem, but after consultation I was informed that the size of the jaw wasn’t the issue but my chin which was on the smaller side and the fat on the side of my jaw below my cheeks.
I was shown a few images of patients with chin implant and the look was more of what I wanted than the jaw reduction. I wonder how many people actually end up getting the exact procedure they plan to get because most of the procedures I got weren’t on my bucket list.
Anyways I decided to receive a chin implant from inside of my lower lip and we agreed to go with a 10mm prosthetic insert. Along with chin implant, I also decided to get my nose done and remove some buccal fat along with a thread lift and some fat removed from my hip line. As for the hip line fat removal, Dr. Oh introduced me to another surgeon Dr. Suk Min Kwon, who specialized in liposuction procedures. After torturing the surgeons with all my questions, I had prepared in a notebook along with my new questions after hearing about the other procedures (which they answered so patiently and openly) I did not have very much time in Korea so I scheduled a surgery time on the day of my consultation by making a 10% deposit before going to Korea.
I came in and was instructed to change my clothes and wash my face and rinsed with mouthwash. I had forgot to remove my nail and toenail polish so I quickly removed them while the staff went over a brief check list with me regarding my period and if I had any cold symptoms. Just before the operation I had a last-minute meeting with the surgeons who went over everything once more on what he was going to do (chin implant). As I entered the operation room, there were nurses there who were prepping the operating area. While they were putting tubes and etc in my arms I had a translator by me to explain a few things to me. Then the anesthesiologist came in and did his thing and it was lights out for me. The first thing I remember when I first opened my eyes was touching my chin which didn’t seem painful at all. It was actually very numb and slightly swollen but my hip and nose was very sore.
The assistant and a nurse wheeled me to my recovery room where I fell asleep again. The first 3 days after the operation were the worst, I couldn’t open my mouth and drank only through a straw. I even lost some weight because of the special diet that I had to follow for 2 weeks (only soups and soft food). The next two days after the operation I got a post-op care at Regen. I had only one week in Korea, so the personnel were so attentive to me. A week after they removed some stitches and applied a dressing with the following check -up with Dr. Oh and Kwon. But since my time in Korea was limited, I wasn’t able to remove all my stitches before leaving. My work only allowed me to stay for so long. This however wasn’t an issue as I visited a nearby hospital to have them removed easily. I slowly started to see my results once the swelling went down and I was amazed. The chin implant is amazing along with the results of the other procedures. My biggest worries before coming to Korea were the language barrier and being scammed by hospitals but these two were never a problem at Regen.

Dr. Oh is very polite and very shy about his english skills but is very good and always answers everything with great detail. He also smiles alot which calmed my nerves quite a bit.
