I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Lee this past August 2017 at VIP Plastic Surgery Clinic in Seoul. My surgery included re-aligning my nose and smoothing my bridge with an osteotomy (cosmetic) and correcting a deviated septum (medical) to aid with proper breathing.
The clinic itself has an excellent English-speaking staff that I found genuinely warn and friendly. They were very approachable, and even gave me cellphone contacts to use so I could always get in touch with someone if I ever had any questions. I felt like I was very well taken care of before, during, and after my surgery, and I never felt as though I was being rushed or pressured into anything.
Dr. Lee was also fantastic to work with. He is very professional and to-the-point. He was quite frank and honest with me about what he could and couldn't do with my nose—I had a rather heavy deviation to my left, and he was very adamant that working with live tissue was not the same as Photoshop, and that my nose would likely not be perfectly centered post-op. I also didn't want to use any implants, so he told me the pros and cons of that decision as well. All in all, I felt like he wasn't afraid to be honest with me as a customer and didn't just "tell me what I wanted to hear" in order to get me to choose his clinic. It was this honesty and realism that actually sold me on VIP for my surgery.
My recovery was a little bit longer than expected, but VIP held my hand every step of the way. They always made sure I understood everything that was happening and felt comfortable. The idea of being put under for a surgical procedure and trusting someone with my body is something that always really stressed me out, but I actually found myself very calm and comfortable on the day of my surgery. This was 100% due to Dr. Lee and the VIP staff members, so I really can't recommend them enough!
Additionally, for anyone who is non-Asian and looking to have a rhinoplasty done in Korea, Dr. Lee serves a very large number of foreign clients. There were several other non-Asian foreign patients during my surgery and recovery period. Dr. Lee is really great at working with your natural tissue and current nose to make it a very natural-looking, improve version. I would say that my surgery is about 85% "perfect", but that I knew long in advance that because of my personal case 100% perfection wasn't really practical or possible. Therefore, I'm 100% satisfied with my results themselves and my breathing in particular has been amazing!
