WORTH IT
I’ve always hesitated to do breast augmentation because of the pain. And besides pain from surgery, it was difficult to find the right hospital for my surgery.
There are so many hospitals and clinics and how do I know if they do good or bad without having actual surgery, right? :)
While I was hesitating to do surgery, one of my friends went to Korea and had breast augmentation there. I met her 4 months after surgery and she looked so great with new boobs!
Her size was almost same as mine (A in Korean size) before surgery and now it became size D in Korea (Size C in America). And her recovery seemed to be fast; I don’t see swellings on her breasts. So, I decided to do my surgery at the same hospital as my friend did.
I am Korean-American so I often go to Korea to see my relatives. I had chance to go to Korea last summer. When I told my cousins that I would go for the surgery, they opposed to my idea. They thought there was nothing wrong with my breasts so surgery would be useless. But, I had been insecure about my breast size since I was in high school so I wanted to get the surgery done asap.
I went to ID Hospital where my friend did her surgery done at. I could choose the doctor so I chose Dr. Hwang, the same doctor as my friend had. During the consultation with him, I felt much relieved because Dr.’s words made me to have faith on him. He was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experiences.
I did my surgery on August 5th. I was very nervous before surgery because it was the first surgery I’ve ever done in my life. The surgery was about 2 hours long and I was in the recovery room for an hour then could go back to my cousin’s house. I was worried because I thought I was going to be hospitalized after surgery but they told me to go home.
1 week after surgery, I went back to hospital for treatment. They disinfected the incision area where was under the breasts. Dr. said that the surgery was successful and it looked good. They also provided me 3 swelling care at their dermatology every week. The only thing I didn’t like was wearing a compression bra. It made me feel uncomfortable and painful.
Now, I’m into 6 month post-op and I think I’m fully recovered. I like the shape and size. I thought it was too big at first, but as the swellings went down, it turned to perfect size as I wanted to have!

Thank you for sharing all the helpful details of your breast augmentation journey. So glad you are happy with your results! You are right, it does take time to see your final results. Do you think the surgery was a lot less in expensive in Korea than your home?

Thank you! :) well I guess the price is actually higher than US. But, since I am Korean American and I do speak Korean so I got some discount because I don't need translation or pickup service etc. :)

I think the cost was worth it as you look great. You can list the cost on the top of your review if you like. I can see that a language barrier would be a challenge. It's nice you didn't have to deal with that!

wow.. dr hwang is one of my choice too, im still deciding between dr hwang ID hospital and Dr Barn jae sang Banobagi hospital.. in 2 weeks i will have mine done but until this point im scare, to be honest i dont like the idea of general anasthesia, but the all of breast augmentation procedure in korea are using general anasthesia. about prices, how much did you pay? because banobagi ask for KRW 16.300 which is $15.000 for Motiva. i think its super pricy comparing to the US price.
