This is a revision from a sliding genioplasty done...
This is a revision from a sliding genioplasty done about 10 years ago by Dr. El Attar (An Egyptian doctor who practiced in England). The previous surgery had made my chin moved to the left and appeared very asymmetrical. The asymmetry is very apparent in photographs. (see pic)
Then I went to Seoul to have it corrected recently - the chin is now centered but the two sides of my face appear to be uneven probably because of the uneven incision made by previous. now when I move my lips a certain way there are dimples appearing. I now have a very long chin and angles on the corner of my face which wasn't there before. It made me look like Caitlyn Jenner. At first I thought it was just swelling cos it has only been 10 days post surgery - but when I touch my chin and the side of my jaws where there are lumps, it feels hard (like bone) which make me think that this may be the final shape. I am worried cos it made me look at least 20 years older with this big square jaw and chin.
So I am just wondering how long it should take for the swelling to go down and for my jaw to actually "shrink" back to reasonable shape?
I also want to know if there is a way to find out if there's nerve or muscle damage cos i find it very hard to move the right side of my lip - I don't remember it being at stiff in the post -op recovery of the previous surgery
