Happy Birthday to Me!

I just turned 53 but don't feel like I'm a day over 43. However my eyelids and jowels were making me look tired and "my age". I plan to fight this aging thing as best as I can. I do not have the downtime away from work that surgery demands, plus I am not ready to make that level of commitment. Ultherapy seemed to be the best option for me.
I had read all the horror stories about Ultherapy but after discussing it with Dr. Reichel and Cheryl, decided that "those people" just didn't do their research or went to an unqualified person.
Yesterday I did it! I went in 1 hour before my appointment and was given anti nausea, 4 Tylonol and 2 Percoset. Cheryl slathered me up with numbing cream and I was left to "marinate" for an hour. (I began taking Arnica Montana the week prior in hopes of minimizing bruising and didn't drink alcohol the week prior, that is it).
I don't know if I had psyched myself up for the level of pain or that the Percoset and numbing cream did their job, but it was not at all as painful as I was expecting. Some areas I barely felt. Some areas were definitely uncomfortable borderline painful, but totally bearable. The procedure took appx. an hour. I had my entire face done. I did not have my neck done.
The biggest surprise is almost immediately after, my skin looked almost as it did prior to the procedure! No welting, no excessive redness, no swelling, nothing. It felt tight, and warm to the touch. Later on in the evening I noticed it was sensitive to the wind. My eyebrows felt like they were wet with gel or something, but weren't. Kinda weird, but not at all painful. We went out to dinner and noone could even tell I had a procedure done.
This morning when I woke up, my skin doesn't appear swollen or red or even that tight. It is a little sensitive to the touch, like sore muscles. No horror story here!
I'm excited to see the progression of results over the next few months.
I'll add photos and an update for anyone interested, in a few months.
My suggestion for anyone considering this procedure is find the person in your area that has done the most treatments and go to them. It might cost a bit more, but we are taking about your face!

Melanie, what was your final verdict on whether this was worth it? Curious about whether I should try it.
