Hi Everyone!
It's been about 4 years +/- since Dr. Lamperti took care of me. Thought I'd give you some thoughts about everything then and since...
1. Absolutely NO REGRETS whatsoever!
2. Everything looks great and feels great (Nose + Chin).
3. Fillers faded away quicker than I wanted, but that's not a negative against Dr. Lamperti. My body metabolized the fillers and they were only temporary.
4. Would I do it again? Yes
5. Would I have done things differently? Yes, I would have not gotten the fillers, but that's only because they faded away so soon.
6. Pain: I remember feeling sore and uncomfortable, but not really "pain". It's hard to explain. Sleeping (with my mouth open) was challenging, as my mouth was dry a lot. Eating was a challenge because of the Chin Implant; soft foods only for about a week or so.
7. Prescription meds: I chose Fioricet, which was hard to get filled in Seattle. But eventually found a pharmacy willing to fill it. I only took them for the first day. After that it was Tylenol or Advil. And after a few days was off pain meds completely.
8. Numbness: So, this lasted a long time. Maybe a good 6-8 months before most of it came back. I'd say I am at 98%.
Biggest/Weirdest Change:
It took me a while to see my NEW self in my mind. My mental image of me was the old version of me. But somehow, eventually, my mental image shifted to the new me. When I look at older photos of me (before surgery) it's really hard to imagine. Even my friends/family say it's hard for them to remember my old self unless they see pictures. Is this a good or bad thing? Neither! It's just something to note.
While some/many people choose to get additional rhino surgeries, I HAVE NO INTENTION. I am completely, 100% very satisfied with what Dr. Lamperti did for me. I love my nose and chin, so...no need to get them re-done or enhanced or whatever.

You kind of look like Robert Downy Jr. now, lol. Anyway, you mentioned you're still paying off the surgery. How did you go about financing it? (Like CareCredit, a private loan?)
January 24, 2017
haha I've heard that before. I used CareCredit. I only had to pay for the anaesthesiologist out-of-pocket. I was approved in minutes and it was pretty easy. I doubled up/tripled my minimum payments to get it paid off as quickly as I could, so that allowed me to pay it off in 13 months instead of 13 years (plus interest). I will have paid it off before the interest accrue. Very happy about that.

Oh, congrats on paying it off so quickly! That's one of the nice things about CareCredit: the interest doesn't start accumulating after the first month (unlike a typical credit card). Anyway, thanks for your response, it was super helpful!

Almost 7 Weeks Post-op (Plus Before & After)
MarshallcanMarch 10, 2016
Hi Everyone,
Take a look at me at just 6.5 weeks post-op!
Facts:
* Went to 4 consultations (before deciding on my surgeon)
* Dr. Lamperti performed everything
* Rhinoplasty, Chin implant, Fillers (Restylane for eyes and Radiesse for back jaw)
* Cost was just under $16,000 (for everything, including operating room and anesthesiologist
* About 4 hours of surgery
* Pain was never more than a 4 (scale 1-10)
* No complications
* Puffiness, yes. Bruising, no
* Slept first 24 hours--knocked out
* Day 2 was already out and about
* Day 3 I went to the movie theater
* Returned to the gym by day 12 (no cardio!)
Pros & Cons:
Pros
* New face
* Emotional bliss
Cons:
* Cost
* What-ifs
* Recovery (rhinoplasty can take up to a year!!!!)
How I ultimately decided:
Honestly, I just didn't have time for the what-ifs. I was confident in my surgeries, in my doctor and in the financial decision. There was no second-guessing. I wasn't nervous or scared about really anything. I made the decision and I owned it.
If you're not 100% CONFIDENT in anything, then you should really hold off. I made sure that I was confident in all of the details. I wanted to make sure that I came out of this experience without any regrets--regardless of what happened.
My recovery has been amazing! The numbness and tightness in my chin is completely gone. I have feeling and the tightness has subsided. The incision is tender, but not at all painful. I can shave just fine. My nose was completely numb for a while. the past couple weeks my nose has been itchy. But because there's no "feeling" it's a bit awkward and strange. I have noticed that the numbness is going away. It's an odd feeling that you quickly forget about.
I have noticed a lot of people (on RealSelf) getting consultations at the Seattle location (1101 Madison Street), as there are tons of doctors in this building. Let me say, while you're there, PLEASE CONSULT WITH DR. LAMPERTI!!!!
Feel free to ask questions or voice your concerns. I will be glad to share my experience or answer questions.
Wishing you all the best of luck in your cosmetic journey!

Thanks so much!!! I am sooooo glad that I chose Dr. Lamperti. He's absolutely amazing! Thank you!

Your results are awesome. What was done with your chin implant? Was it (foreign object) implant or genioplasty (moving/cutting the chin bones)?
May 29, 2017
Hi Jenx3 --Thanks for your comment. I looked at both options and decided to simply go with an artificial implant only. So, no genioplasty. I'm not sure what the material is made of, but it was super lightweight and flexible. But it didn't feel like plastic or teflon. Maybe a firm rubber composite, of some sort.
I plan to go back and get my jaw modified in the same way. Dr. Lamperti doesn't perform jaw implants (and many doctors don't either), due to a high incidence rate of problems. So, I will be going to a different surgeon for that.

Hey Marshallcan. Thanks for your quick reply.
I'm considering rhinoplasty and chin as well (and a bunch of other things! I can see how ps are addictive! hahaa). I think I would like my rib cartilage to build my nose bridge (vs synthetic). I have the unfortunate flat Asian nose bridge. I haven't researched as much on chins yet. I was thing of going to South Korea for the nose and chin, and eyes (due to purported expertise/popularity/volume, and cost). But I'm feeling overwhelmed of going international to a place without knowing the language.
I haven't read much on jaws - that sounds much more involved surgery as it involves bones. Yes? I'll look for updates from you on that. Good luck with it!
May 29, 2017
I was in South Korea for about 5 months (for work) and considered getting it done there too because it's so inexpensive, compared to the US. However, I didn't know the language and wasn't confident that I would be able to communicate my needs effectively enough. Also, the cost of getting there, and staying in a hotel, seems like too much money. Dr. Lamperti is a facial expert. He only does the face and has a lot of videos out there that you can see to do some research. He also isn't the most expensive surgeon out there.
May 29, 2017
I will look your doctor up for sure. Thanks for the great testimonies! I'm in the Bay Area, so hotel would actually cost more here than in South Korea! (Air tickets can be had pretty cheaply! 6-700!I) did find some great reviews and clinics in SK that have translators. One even have in-house lodging and 24hour nurse care. Great for someone like me who would be traveling there alone. There's also an actual company (or several?) who help coordinate everything from selecting the clinics/surgeons for what you're wanting done, to help with hotel arrangements. I'm not so worried about not getting what I want accomplished there - they do Asian faces all the time - but it's finding the right doctors who would use rib cartilage rather than synthetic. :) it's a lot of decisions. So much research and reading to do!
