I have to say, I've thought about writing this...

I have to say, I've thought about writing this review for a while- it's not something I've dashed off in anger. I just had a peculiar visit and wanted to share. I found my consultation with Dr. Portuese to be a little different than others I've had. They take snapshots, photos of your profile, etc. so that they can digitally alter your image. The dark-haired girl who took the snapshots, after looking down at the camera screen smiled and chuckled a little. I was standing in front of her. I thought, "Okay, that's a little interesting. Perhaps maybe unprofessional. Maybe one should wait at least until they've absconded to a back room, to chuckle over potential patient's photos?" It was pretty uncouth. Then the interview itself with Dr. Portuese. He was very highly knowledgeable and obviously a man who is practiced at what he does. They have a woman who does the digital altering, and acts as a liaison between Doctor and client. She's especially thoughtful, and seems to soften Dr. Portuese's less than refined style of communicating- I believe he referred to my nose as a "pandora's box" and "scar tissue". :) He's very colorful in his language and very direct if not blunt. It was a paid consultation. It lasted for about forty minutes. I did have the overwhelming feeling that Dr. Porteuse wanted me to sign off and schedule the procedure that day, which is a little rushed. And I didn't feel perhaps that I would be getting the results that I truly wanted. There were many times in which Dr. Porteuse would say, "Well, I wouldn't do that... no, I'd this." I don't have negative feelings about the visit, mostly mixed feelings really. I just don't think I've had consultation quite like it.
