After months of searching internet sites and reading reviews I chose to have my facelift done by Dr. Portuese at Seattle Facial Plastic Surgery Center. He has extensive credentials and training and also teaches at the University of Washington. Coupled with the majority of positive reviews, I knew my choice was solid.
At 66 years old, my skin was beginning to sag and I had lines around my mouth. Dr. Portuese understood my feeling that my face did not match my fitness level, physical energy and inside feelings. My surgery date was the first week of May 2016. My recovery was fast and by 5-6 weeks much of the swelling and redness had dissipated. Now, 14 weeks later, I could not be more thrilled with the results, Dr. Portuese's skill, and the entire office staff. My face has a natural, younger, and refreshed look.
At my initial appointment, Dr. Portuese thoroughly explained the facelift procedure and results I could expect. He also suggested he perform dermabrasion on the lower half of my face, below my nose and around my mouth. I am so glad I listened to his advice. Dermabrasion virtually eliminated almost all of my vertical lip lines. The overall effect of the facelift and dermabrasion is very natural looking. Friends I have had for thirty years did not realize I had these procedures. They have just kept telling me how great I look and how "rested and healthy."
I found Dr. Portuese to be professional, and a very caring physician. Out of kindness, he offered to straighten one of my ears that had been botched in an otoplasty when I was very young. In addition, the entire staff, from front desk, patient care coordinator, and administrative assistant, to nurses and surgical staff went out of their way to help me feel relaxed and positive while clearly explaining to me the steps of each procedure. I appreciated the transparency about costs and results I personally could expect, since all patients are different. Staff demonstrated their team approach and competence pre-surgery, day of surgery and during post-surgical appointments.
