Tight Neck and Jawline Again! Seattle, WA

ORIGINAL POST

I'd been contemplating a lower face/neck lift for...

WORTH IT$17,000
I'd been contemplating a lower face/neck lift for quite awhile and had a couple different consults but once I met Dr. Ridgeway I decided he was the right doc. This is a MAJOR surgery and one should be aware of the multiple incisions required and recovery time. Was a bit nervous following surgery due to swelling which makes it difficult to determine results for at least 8 weeks. I also had my own fat transferred from thighs to face which the 2 docs highly recommended for best results. I feel that my lips pretty much look the same, even after some fat transfer but my cheek shaping looks very natural and I don't have that pinched/tight look often noticeable following facelifts. Will definitely take some times for the incisions behind my ears to fade but incisions in front of my ears are barely noticeable, even on close inspection- thank you Dr. Ridgeway, super talented surgeon!

Thanks for sharing your experience
Welcome, always nice to hear others' experiences- was a huge step for me.
Thank you for sharing your review. At what point in your recovery did you feel confidant with results? What has been the hardest part of recovery? Thank you so much
Great question newmeaug, 10 days and counting for me.
Took a bit longer than originally thought due to swelling but did not have tons of bruising thanks to my doc. Probably a good couple months to see the "old" me in there- much improved. Know my husband was nervous about results for that length of time and friends told me "you're back" after 2+ months- need to be patient. There is a good amount of post-op tending to incisions with washing, antibiotic ointments, etc. Expect to have really, greasy hair for minimum 2-3 weeks (hated that). Since I had fat transfer also my cheeks/lips felt pretty strange but that also has improved. Plus, the sides of my face, esp. near ears has remained numb due to nerves, but feeling is slowly returning. If you have a neck lift you'll have some pretty heavy duty incisions behind ears, along hairline- that was a bit of a surprise. My doc did explain that I had a lot of excess skin- I am 61 so probably waited too long. Still very happy with my results! Hope this helped.
Brenlec, thanks for sharing. I had my surgery May 28th and it's good to know that you experienced much of what I am going through now. I'm also 61 and never even had a facial until last year. The incisions in the back hairline are the most bothersome. I'm glad you are doing well and happy with your result.
Newmeaug- Patience is the key, time makes a huge difference. I'm currently letting my hair grow longer due to those incisions but the redness has already. Best to you and wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks for posting. I wish you continued success. Would love to see photos too!
Appreciate that but not sure I want to post my pics, will think about it tho.
Thank you for sharing your experience! What other Seattle docs did you consult with before deciding on your surgeon?
Nacify in Bellevue, one in CA and another in Lake Oswego- just liked Ridgeway so much better and felt he listened to all my concerns and competently described options, he's the best.
