I was born with Poland syndrome where one of my breast never developed and the other had grown but also hadn't developed quite right. I'm 17 years old and this surgery was the best thing I have ever done. I feel so much more confident and happy! Dr. Karen Vaniver is literarily the greatest lady and such a wonderful doctor! She has changed my life for the better. I got silicone implants in both my breasts and they look and feel great!

Did you only get implants put in under your muscle or did you have to have any extra surgeries to rebuild your breast bone area... I'm getting a breast augmentation next month to fix my Poland syndrome assymetries and am wondering if the implants will fix the concaved look on the affected side, or if I'm going to need other surgeries.

I also have Poland syndrome and I ended up doing two surgeries to help the situation. I had a lift and I reduced my left breast first. They cut a half pound out to try to match it to my right side. That was a year and a half ago and it did help tremendously but still wasn't great. I did silicone implants a week ago and it helped a lot. One side 400cc and the right 475cc. The base is still not as wide on the right side since there was no muscle there but it's still much improved.

One thing I forgot to say is the left is under the muscle and right side over a gland. Interesting
Congratulations! I can't imagine how happy you must be to have symmetrical breasts. Were you able to get silicone implants at a young age due to the Poland syndrome? Did you need different sized implants? Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf!
